“Take a seat Miss Hayes, oh and you as well Mr. Brooks why are you two late”

I start getting nervous and started breathing heavily

The kids in class were all looking at me and whispering

“what is she doing with him”

“he’s way better than her”

Camden looks over at me

“we had a flat tire” Camden said

“okay, have a seat”

“as I was saying, You need to write an essay composed of 1,000 words on the theory you believe happened to the colony of Roanoke.”

Thank god I thought, I know all about this and I love writing

I look up, I see Camden

He turns around and winks and me

I immediately start blushing

I try to cover up my face as well as I can so people cannot see me blushing.

***************

The Next periods went by quickly without any anxiety attacks which I’m not complaining about

I was watching the clock during all of third period waiting for the bell to ring for lunch.

I guess it’s because I want to see Camden. No, I really want to see him.

The bell finally rings and a huge smile spreads across my face. I stand up and run out the door.

I run onto the field and sit down at the tree.

It’s super cold out so I'm shivering

“aren’t you here early”

I turn around it’s Camden

“well y-yes, s-see I just w-wanted to..”

“It’s fine, so whats up” he said

“Umm.. nothing r-really” I said

“oh come on, absolutely nothing” Camden questioned

I look down

“sorry” he said

“it’s okay”

There was a pause of silence before he spoke.

“look I feel bad that I didn’t tell you about what happened this morning” camden blurted suddenly, “and, I also was concerned on why you ran off yesterday after school, I saw you sprinting down the street. What happened?”

Then it all dawned on me. He saw me, he ignored me and made me run home in utter distress, I know a little dramatic sounding. What am I doing? He doesn't like me.

“Didn’t you see me?” I questioned quite angrily. I’m not over exaggerating am I? No, i’m not, i’m right. He ignored me..

“After school,” he uttered nervously, “I kinda got in trouble, and my mom is sick so my dad had to pick me up.” He rolled his eyes.

“w-what did you d-do” I muttered gritting my teeth.

“My so called “friends” spray painted a devil on the back wall of the school, which they blamed on me. It took a lot of convincing to reassure Principal Heedman that I did not spray paint the wall” his tone got louder, which is understandable, I mean he was kinda betrayed by some idiotic 16 year olds he thought were his friends.

“So your saying you didn't do it?” I questioned

“Yes,” he said calmly, “I would never commit something so deplorable and lie to thy beautiful, thus would be a sin to continue living…” he said this in an english accent which therefore lead me to a fit of laughter.

“I made thy beautiful laugh,” he had a huge smile on his face

“you called me beautiful,” I started blushing.

“Like I said before it would be considered a sin to lie to you,” he made me think. If he did not ignore me and didn't look all disgusted who did he look at then if he did not see me run down the street. His dad..

After he stated that his dad picked him up he rolled his eyes, which leads me to believe that his simple misdemeanor I mistaken it as, was his fathers wrongdoing. He was looking at his dad, not me.

“It was your dad,” I blurted

“what about him,” he talked different when I brought up the topic of his dad.

“You don't l-like him do you,” why do I always stutter.

“I just dislike his past actions is all, it’s nothing”

“okay”

“So..” Camden said nervously, “would you like to..um maybe.. if you want to come over to my house after school?” he blew out a bunch of air it sounded like he was holding for quite some time.

“sure” I squealed. I blushed anxiously at that unpalatable pig like noise I made. Do I seriously have to embarrass myself..

Camden smiled and said to meet me in the front of the school. He said goodbye as he stood up.

I watched him as he walked away. I’m not creepy, I promise. When he passed the fence I don’t think he knew I could see him, but he very cliché put his fist in the air and walked into the school hallway.

I laid in the snow for a little until I heard the bell ring.

A smile appears upon my face, I sit up and run to my next class.
