I am in love with him (Yamazaki Sousuke x OC)

Prologue

"Would you go out with me?"

What? What just happened? Having forced to crane my neck to look up at his face due to our huge height difference, I stared blankly at the guy who was standing in front of me with his usual serious facial expression on.

Snapping back into reality, "W-wait, what?" I flustered. "Can you please repeat that sentence again?" my lower lip quivered as I asked, unable to believe of what he just said.

"That sentence again?" he said with a lopsided smirk on his face, without a hint of seriousness behind it anymore.

"Y-yes, please repeat that-" I stopped my sentence as my brain tried to understand, realising what he meant. "Geez, Sousuke-kun! Don't tease me like that!" I said loudly, not loud enough to attract other people's attention. We were both currently at the back of Iwatobi High School, staring down at each other (up for me). I broke the staring contest off by look away in order to hide my face from him. My cheeks were abnormally warm when I cupped them with my hands. Oh my god, I would bet that my face was extremely red at that moment.

Should I believe what he just said right there? Could I possibly? I did not know. I needed confirmation about it first. My thoughts broke off as I heard his chuckling chime into my mind, interrupting me. I looked back at him, hands obviously still on my face, trying to at least cover up some of the blush on my face. His eyes were slightly closed when his lips formed into a grin, dimples forming on his cheeks. His right hand in front of his mouth to cover it, resulting a stifled laugh from him. I sighed inwardly, in awe, his laugh was music to my ears from the very beginning before this. Doing my best to not let him know that I was taking my time admiring his boyish features, I pouted.

"That's not even a funny joke to begin with," I said, crossing my arms now, still fully aware of my face. But hey, I was trying to be the dominant one here. Crossing my arms seemed the perfect choice.

He finally stopped laughing, putting his right hand back to his side, he took a step forward, teal eyes sparkling with amusement. "Then you should learn to use the word properly," he suggested, taking another step towards me.

I took a few steps back unconsciously, my back touched the wall behind me as I did. Before I could escape, Sousuke was right in front of me, his right arm resting on the wall. If he was thinking that I could not escape from this then he was- He took another stupid step forward, his well built body leaning into me, suffocating me with his goddamned scent that I loved so much. Well, there went my dream of thinking he was wrong.

"I was saying if you would go out with me," he repeated, his teal eyes showed nothing but only seriousness, desperation and... hope? I looked into his eyes, searching for more before I opened my mouth again.

"Are you really asking me that right now?" was the first thing that came out as a response. "Could I really believe your words? Is there any prove of it?" questions started flooding out of my mouth, like I said above, I really wanted confirmation for this.

He nodded and said only three words as if they were what was needed there to explain everything. "I love you," he whispered, seriousness still visible in his teal eyes but I could feel them showering me with love as he looked at me.

Tears threatening to spill from the corner of my eyes, I covered my mouth with my hands. "Is- Is this a dream, Sousuke-kun?" I sniffed. "Am I really here listening to you confess to me?"

"It's not a dream. I really, really wish that you would go out with me," Sousuke answered patiently, his voice soothing. I only started wailing then, letting all my tears out. Though my visions were blurred, I could still see Sousuke smile as he grabbed both my wrists to remove my hands away from my face.

"I love you," he said again as he leaned in to kiss my tears away. He let my wrists go and I circled my arms around him as he wrapped me into an embrace. Clinging onto his Samezuka winter uniform, I had the sudden need to close the distance between us, to feel his warmth against my body.

"I love you too," I replied, my voice muffled as I buried my face in his clothes, dampening them. We stood like that for a while until I lifted my head off his chest and looked up at him again.

He had this cute grin on his face, a tint of red on the tip of his nose, most probably because of the cold. "I take it as a yes then?" he asked, I could hear excitement in his voice.

Blushing, I replied with a smile plastered on my face. "Idiot."
