5 Years later

Bella's POV

"Alright kids! Bring out your pencils and math worksheets! We'll be working on some multiplication today!" I smiled while writing on the board.

Yup! I pursued teaching, and now I teach a 3rd grade class in our local elementary school. I haven't left town like everyone else did, but I truly enjoyed staying here.

I have my own small house with a beautiful garden. I left my old home because of unwanted memories. Mum still lives there with her new girlfriend. It surprised me, but honestly, it made me happy to see her happy and in love again.

I also have a dog to keep me company. Charlie is a golden retriever whom I love so very much.

"Okay everyone, please work with your groups and if you have any questions, please ask me." I say while opening up an email.

"Knock knock" I hear a knock to see my boyfriend Ashton.

Ashton and I met in college where he also pursued in teaching. He teaches the 5th graders down the hall. We were together since junior year of college but we haven't started living together. I don't know if I feel ready for that kind of commitment yet

"Who's there?" I smiled turning my chair to face him.

"When, where."

"When, where, who?" I asked.

"Tonight, the diner, with me?" He said smiling cheekily. I can't help but start laughing at him. "You couldn't wait till recess to ask?" I said looking over to my students who are working hard on their math. They didn't notice Mr. Irwin flirting with me. "My students are busy with division, came to see my lovely girlfriend." He smiled. I rolled my eyes at him before shooing him away.

"Yes, I will go to dinner with you. Bye bye now." I said waving at him. He shakes his head, descretely blowing a kiss while walking away. I shake my head chuckling before reading my emails. A few minutes later the recess bell rings and I tell the kids to line up by the door so we can all go out together.

I grabbed my phone and walked with the students outside and watch them play on the playground. My phone started ringing and I excused myself from the other teachers on recess duty.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Bella! It's your mother and I have some good news for you!" My mom happily greeted me.

"Hi mom, you know I'm working right?" I asked rubbing my temple.

"Oh hush, I am your mother. Now, you need to come to our house tonight cause we're having a special dinner."

"I can't mom I have plans tonight. Maybe next time." I sighed.

"ISABELLA COLLINS YOU ARE COMING TO THIS IMPORTANT DINNER AND THATS FINAL!" She yelled at me. I may be a grown ass adult, but my mom still scares the shit out of me.

"Fine, what time?" I mumbled.

"Be here at 7:00, Love you sweetie!" She said in a chirpy voice and hangs up.

What is so important with this dinner anyway?

I turned around to see Ashton walking up to me, bumping his hip against mine.

"Why the long face babe?" he asked.

"I won't be able to go to dinner with you tonight. My mom planned an 'important' dinner at her house and she said I need to go to it. She even yelled at me." I pouted. He started chuckling.

"Aww, Its okay babe, we can go next time. If your mom says its important, then I think you should go. I have some grading to catch up on anyway so don't feel bad." He smiled.
