This independent part of me doth prick

And twitch beneath the dumping of the heart.

Emblazoned, sewn into my skin - your trick

Seeps into the veins and combs the parts.

An image - flashed around those pulsing ways:

Sent, delivered and stretched beyond the pink -

Of eyes, Atlantic, shifting like the waves

And lashes slightly stroking as they blink.

Now when imagining those bodies meet

The glow of electricity will blind,

The buzz and prickle turns to friction heat;

We melt into whatever that we find.

yet in the cold and dank reality

a shirking shifting shape in front of me.
