I had said that I was going for the get-together but hadn't planned anything. And shit! I had also forgotten the invitation back at home. That thing had all the details. Ugh! I only knew that the gathering was being held at Royal Heaven Resort in Dubai. But that doesn't mean I had any plans to go and get back the invitation.

I booked a ticket and boarded the plane among the busy flight of passengers. It had been a long time since I had boarded a plane as a passenger and not as a pilot. The last time I had boarded a plane was to surprise Sid on his birthday.

He had gone for a business trip in Philippines. I missed him so much on his birthday that I went there on impulse. I knew the hotel he was residing in but I needed to know the room number to execute my 'plan'. I asked the hotel authorities his room number but they were not giving it at first. But when I explained my 'heartfelt' reason they abided and happily gave me the room number. They even gave me the room key!

I sneaked inside the room and of course he wasn't there. I had had a plan to decorate the room but didn't know what to decorate it with. I thought and thought and got an idea. As his favourite colour was orange I decided to give the room an orange vibe. I decorated it with oranges and carrots. I also put in some orange balloons, orange scented candles, orange sequins and even made some orange juice. I also wore an orange dress to top it off. I know it sounds kind of lame but I didn't have enough time to think and brainstorm. Sid could be here at any time. And sure enough within half an hour I could hear the sounds coming from outside. I hid myself under the bed so he himself could discover the surprise. The door opened and in entered a bunch of coat adorned people. Shit!

They were dumbfounded to find the room in such a state. I had to come out of my hiding place to clear the situation. I crawled out from under the bed and faced them. They were even more surprised to see me there if such a situation was even possible. I tried to explain that I was Sid's girlfriend and all but they were not listening. They were going to call the security and I'm sure they would have called the security if 'birthday boy' hadn't made his entry. He was as surprised as the others. "Kaitlyn? What are you...?"The colleagues actually accused me of being a spy of the rival business enterprise! Assholes. Sid tried to clarify the situation and clear the confusion but they were not in a mood to relent. I looked at Sid hopelessly but Sid shook his head as if to signal to not worry. Suddenly he pulled me close and started kissing me furiously. I kissed him back relentlessly. And then he started kissing me everywhere. By the time we stopped the colleagues had left.

"Happy Birthday to the best kisser in the world." I wished. He chuckled and kissed me again.

"When did you reach here? And these decorations? I love it!" he said. I laughed in response.

He then asked, " Wait, How did you even get here?"

"I seduced the hotel manager. No offense, but he is way hotter than you." I replied teasing.

"Oh really? Get ready to be seduced girl!"

I looked around searching. He looked at me questioningly and asked, " What?" "Where is the hotel manager?" I replied asking and smiled slyly.

He laughed and placed his lips on mine.

I reached Dubai. I had travelled to Dubai before and had in fact loved the bustling city with its very tall skyscrapers. The vibe there was electrifying. I quickly took a taxi and reached the resort. Wow! The resort was amazing. I was spellbound by its magnificent size. The administrative group sure had made efforts and also had a lot of funds. I entered the resort and asked the receptionist about the gathering. She informed that that day was the first day of the gathering and a party was being held at that very moment in the banquet hall. She also told me to hurry up as I was already late. As if I cared. I took the lift and reached the banquet hall.

The banquet hall was beautifully decorated. It looked colourful with all the elaborate decorations. There were white pillars located at some specific places. On the front end was an enormous stage where one of my old classmates, Ray, was saying something on a mike. But after seeing me she stopped speaking. One by one all eyes turned to me. I then realized why. All were wearing gorgeous formals-gowns, frocks, coats, pants and what not. Amidst all of them was me wearing a jean shorts and a white sleeveless top with my hair tied in a bun. Fuck, I should have read the details of that invitation. All were looking at me as if I had violated the dress code of the President's inauguration or something.

Ray regained her shocked senses and announced," Look here comes the beautiful Kaitlyn."

I searched the crowd for some familiar faces to save me from this tight spot. At that moment Sandra, my old best friend came up to me and hugged me. "Kaitlyn! I missed you all these years." she said. I replied, " I missed you too." Soon we struck up a conversation and slowly the piercing eyes turned away from us. But I noticed one particular set of eyes looking at me. Trevor's.
