Hagrid turned back to the rest of the class, "No one?"
"I'll do it," Harry said. He climbed over the fence.
"Good man, Harry!" Hagrid bellowed. "Right then — let's see how yeh get on with Buckbeak."
He is a bit dramatic. Actually goes by Buckbeak, though his name is actually Wilbur.
Hagrid untied the hippogriff, slipping off its collar.
"Easy now, Harry," Hagrid said quietly. "Yeh've got eye contact, now try not ter blink... Hippogriffs don' trust yeh if yeh blink too much...."
The hippogriff was staring at Harry with one fiery orange eye, daring Harry to do something.
"Tha's it," Hagrid said. "Tha's it, Harry... now, bow...."
Harry bowed, glancing back up nervously.
Buckbeak didn't move.
"Ah," Hagrid said. I didn't catch the rest of it, I was busy.
Buckbeak, I thought, Harry is good. He's a hero. Saved my life.
Buckbeak suddenly bent his knees, sinking into a bow.
"Well done, Harry!" Hagrid said, excited. "Right — yeh can touch him! Pat his beak, go on!"
Harry slowly patted the beak, and I saw Buckbeak close his eyes lazily.
The class applauded, and I grinned.
"Righ' then, Harry," Hagrid said. "I reckon he might let yeh ride him!"
I saw Harry's eyes widen.
"Yeh climb up there, jus' behind the wing joint," Hagrid said, "an' mind yeh don' pull any of his feathers out, he won' like that..."
Harry climbed onto it, looking around awkwardly.
"Go on, then!" Hagrid bellowed, slapping the hippogriff's hindquarters. A second later, they were soaring in the air.
A moment later, they were back on the ground. Harry looked a little wide-eyed, but now everyone else was climbing over the fence.
I was watching Buckbeak again, seeing that it had bowed to Draco.
"This is very easy," Draco drawled, patting Buckbeak's beak. "I knew it must have been, if Potter could do it... I bet your not dangerous at all, are you?" He said to Buckbeak. "Are you, you great ugly brute?"
I didn't have time to stop it.
I hurled myself off of Sandra, running over to Draco while Hagrid wrestled Buckbeak back into his collar. I could see the blood on Draco's robes.
"You idiot!" I roared, kneeling in front of him. "Hagrid said not to insult it, you daft bitch!"
Draco was pale, and I knew the gash in his arm must have hurt a lot. Considering I could see the bone.
"Oh, jeez," I looked at it. "That's not good."
Draco nodded slowly, looking down at it. "Not good at all."
A moment later, Hagrid scooped Draco up into his arms.
Draco looked very confused, "What are you doing?"
"Gotta get you outta here," Hagrid huffed, his skin pale.
Draco squirmed out of his arms, "My arm is hurt, not my leg. Let me walk."
Hagrid followed awkwardly behind us as we walked towards the castle. Naturally, neither of us went to Madam Pomfrey's, knowing that if we did, Buckbeak would get in trouble.
We disappeared into a wall, smiling at Hagrid when no one else was around. He looked surprised at Draco, who had smiled at him. He'd never done that before.
My room was closer, so we went there. I made Draco sit on the edge of the bathtub, and I grabbed a small medkit from under the sink.
"Eat," I said, handing him a square of ambrosia. He took it silently.
I then proceeded to stitch and bandage the wound, forcing him to wear a sling. I'd seen the bone, and I didn't know if it had been hurt enough to require one, but I wasn't risking it.
He sat on the edge of my bed, his good arm wrapped around my shoulder, frowning.
"If you ever do something as stupid as that again, I'll kill you," I said, leaning against him.
"Well, I'll just kiss you now to make up for it in the future," Draco said.
"What?"
Then he kissed me. It was quick and hardly more than a peck, but it had meant more than the world to me. A moment later he was gone, running back to his room.
I sat on my bed for a long time, staring up at the ceiling. Eventually, Connor and Travis sauntered into my room.
"Hey! Want to help us prank—"
"What's wrong with you?"
I looked up at them, and whispered, "Draco kissed me."
Their eyes widened and they grabbed me suddenly, yanking me up and shaking me.
Travis turned to look at the wall, "Where is Silena?"
I stiffened suddenly, trying to get out of their grasp. Silena would freak if she found out.
Hogwarts opened her walls for them.
"Stop struggling!" Connor said as I elbowed him in the ribs.
"Let go!" I said, kicking Travis.
They did not let me go. They dragged me out to one of the empty classrooms, where Silena was doing some homework alone. She looked up when we walked in, her eyes widening.
"Draco kissed you!" She exclaimed, eyes wide. Before I could say anything, she yanked me out of Travis and Connor's arms, practically throwing me on one of the tables.
"Tell me what happened," she demanded.
"He kissed me."
"You know what I mean!"
And that's how I found myself being charmspeaked into describing my first ever kiss to a daughter of Aphrodite and two sons of Hermes.
:)
Saturday was a good day, after I posted the chapter. I got my nails did, and got a smoothie. That was cool, other than the fact I became a basic white girl. Whatever. Also, Kadee cried for a while. That's because my dog killed a baby rabbit. And like, I'm not happy the baby rabbit is dead, by any means, but I'm not mad at the dog. They kind of do that, you know? Me and a friend talked about him coming over, specifically to play LEGO Harry Potter on my Xbox. I'm so up for it. Also, I'm posting this from within a dentists office. I am fear. I always have cavities. I have terrible teeth I inherited from my mother. When I was little, I had fake teeth or something, because when I lost my first tooth, it was metal and had a number 4 etched on the back. Several other teeth were the same way. Of course, not all of my teeth were like that, specifically the back ones. They were fine. But anyways, how many cavities do you think I'll have?
Anyway, I'm in the chair now. I hope you guys have a good Monday, and I'll see you on Wednesday! Love you!
