Awkward Encounters

Mari POV

I groaned at my alarm per usual. I was so not feeling like going out after what happened yesterday, it was all to much to handle. I debated wether I should get out of bed or not when I remembered that I promised to meet Jack and his roommates for breakfast. 

As if on cue, I got a text from the golden boy telling me he'll meet me in front of the cafeteria. I texted a thumbs up and quickly got dressed. As I did my bathroom routine, I felt kinda uneasy. If that wolf from yesterday really is Jack's roommate, then this was gonna be a very awkward breakfast, not to mention we were in Drama club together. On top of that, I would be around Louis again. If my hair wasn't already white, then I would definitely start getting gray hairs from stress. 

I finished up and grabbed my bag. I took a breath to calm my nerves and headed out. 

'Maybe there's an explanation to what happened yesterday with Haru. I really don't want things to be awkward if we're gonna be friends.' 

When I got closer to the cafeteria, I saw Jack waiting by the door like he said. He waved when he saw he.

"Hey, Jack!" I smiled as I got closer. His happy energy was just so infectious. "Sorry if I kept you waiting."

"I actually just got here too. My roommates are waiting inside at a table. I didn't know what meal you wanted, so I just got you the carnivore plate."

"Aw, you didn't have to do that Jack, but thank you!" 

"No prob. Now, I didn't tell them you were sitting with us, so they're in for a big surprise." He laughed as he guided me through the mass of students, some of which stared at me as I passed them.

As we neared his table, my guess was proven right. Among the rowdy canines at the table, the tall gray wolf sat there spacing out.

'Well, here we go.'

Third POV 

"Where did Jack go?"

"Why did he get two plates?"

The canines of room 701 chatted amongst themselves, wondering where their friend had gone. Legoshi was only half listening. He was in his own head as usual.

"Hey guys. I'm back and I have a guest!" As the guys turned to face their friend, all of their jaws hit the floor. Mari giggled and waved at them.

"Hi, nice to meet you all." Legoshi wanted to crawl in hole. He felt like he didn't deserved to be near her after yesterday.

"Mari, this is Collot(sheep dog), Voss (Fennec fox), Durham(Coyote), Miguno(Hyena), and Legoshi." Jack said as he motioned to each guy. "Guys this is Mariposa, but she prefers Mari.

'So his name is Legoshi.' Mari thought as she made brief eye contact with him. It only lasted a second before looked down at his plate. 'He seems...really shy.'

Jack sat next to Legoshi and Mari sat on the other side of Jack. The rest of the boys wasted no time in firing questions at her. She giggled at their liveliness and tried to answer all of their questions as best she could.

Legoshi mostly just listened in. 'So her name is Mariposa. That's a pretty name, it suits her.'

The bell then rang, signaling for everyone to get to class. Mari and Jack headed to their first class together. 

"Sorry if the guys were a bit rowdy." Jack said as they sat down. "They don't really interact with girls all that often, so this was a pretty big thing for them."

"It's cool, Jack." Mari giggled. "They all seemed really nice. Although, Legoshi seemed pretty quiet. Is he normally like that?"

"For as long as I've known him. He's always been very reserved. That's just how he is."
