“Luke?”

“Yeah?”

Just as I was about to ask him what he meant, his cellphone started ringing, ”Hey” he said and then looking at his watch, “Gees... sorry, I lost track of time, I will be there in ten....... I get it ok. I said I will be there in ten” He replied in an angry and upset tone to whoever was on the phone. “Crystal I’m sorry, I got to go.”

“But..” my heart started racing, he cannot go, there is so much I needed to ask him.

“I’m so sorry Crystal, but I really have to go” and he started walking away.

“Wait Luke! Am I going to see u again?” I called after him.

“Definetely,” he replied turning back to give me a killer smile “Now that I found you, I am not gonna let you go. See you soon” and with that he was gone, gobbled into the crowd of people that suddenly appeared from nowhere.

“Aaggh” What did he mean by that? First the sneaking in class, now the weird phone call and what did he mean by now that he found me? Was he looking for me? Aggghhhh I hated having so many questions not answered.

Walking into my house, I stopped. Everything was very quiet. “Hello.... mum?... dad?.... “ As I walked into the lounge I noticed my parents sitting deep in discussion. They were talking so quietly that I could not hear them. “Hello, What’s going on?” I asked and was met by two very surprised faces.

“Hello Dear” My mum said “Did not hear you come in” she finished off, but she had a guilty look on her face. Why would she look guilty what is going on?

“Hi mum. What’s up?”

“Crystal, Dear please come take a seat, your mother and I need to talk to you,” said Dad.

Really I thought to myself, What is going on now. This day just keeps getting better and better. “Yes?” I asked as I sat close to them.

“Hmm.. where do I start,” my father began.

“At the beginning “ I joked.

“Very funny, my dear. Crystal, you know how we have always been so strict about you dating and going out with boys?”

“Yes....” Oh oh, this does not sound good. Please god, No more weird things today, I thought as I felt my stomach clenching, I could feel something bad was coming. My mother was fidgeting and looking everywhere else and my dad was not his normal self. What ever this was, it was not good.

“Well, there is a reason why we behaved in that manner. “

“Hmmm, ok, you want to tell me why dad?”

“Honey, I know you never met your grandfather, but he did something, when you born that caused us to behave in this way.”

“My grandfather? I did not know I had a grand father. What did he do? What has it got to do with me? “ I was now starting to get scared. “Please Daddy, What is going on, you are scaring me now.”

“Oh honey, Don’t be afraid,” and as he said that mum came sat next to me and hugged me. “Remember honey, We love you no matter what. You are everything to us.”

“Crystal,” my mum said “you know we are going way to a family function this weekend, Right? “ she asked, while taking my hand.

“Yes...” I replied very hesitantly, what is going to happen this weekend?

“Well, It is an unusual gathering we are going to and we are not going to be back on Monday, we are going to be gone for a week.”

“What do u mean unusal? And for a week? What about school? I can’t just disappear for a week.” I suddenly thought about Luke. I was hoping to see him on Monday and now this.

“Honey, there is so much we have to tell you, that it might just be better to show you when we get there.” My mum said.

“Mum, you guys cannot just say things like this and not tell me what is going on. What is going on? You have to tell me.”

My mum and dad looked at each other and my dada shrugged and then said “Crystal dear. Here goes. We are not exactly normal people.”

WTF.... “What .... what do you mean by that? You guys are really scaring me now.”

“It’s nothing bad honey,” my mum said, “ It’s just that we are not exactly normal, ordinary people.”

“OMG..... What the  hell? What are we then if we are not normal people? Please tell me, cause I feel very normal. Please don’t tell me we are vampires, or werewolves, cause then I am going to freak.” My heart was now racing....

“Well....” my mum started “ We are..........”
