Miss Adeline enters my room and I realize I'll have to wake up which I don't want to. So I pretend to sleep again.
"Miss Alayna, it's time to wake up"
After hearing her call, that's when I get up. I still feel sleepy even after sleeping till late.
"Your breakfast is in your living room." She tells me.
Why the living room? Why not my room?
But I don't argue. I feel too lazy to do that. I go to my luxurious bathroom. I just wet my face to wake myself up for breakfast. And then I make my secret plan.
As soon as Miss Adeline leaves, I'll flop back on my bed.... But after eating breakfast. Because if I don't, it will turn cold. And a cold breakfast is not a good idea. And my stomach agrees by making a weird sound. Oh well.
I don't even bother changing my clothes and walk into my living room. The first thing which captures my attention is the view outside the window. The sky looks beautiful in different shades of blue with countless small clouds that look soft as cotton while the sun shines brightly illuminating my whole living room.
I walk towards the window and see below. I could see the whole city below. And the view looks magical as if from a fairytale. This view always thrills me even when I see it every day.
"Lovely," I say in a whisper.
"I do agree."
I jump at his voice and turn around in shock. He was sitting on the sofa. My lazy mind and his ability to act like a statue made me unaware of him.
What the hell is he doing here?!
It's late after morning and past breakfast time. He is wearing a white shirt and blue pants casually and he has his sleeves folded. He is looking at me with amusement in his eyes.
Would he die if he smiles? I really wish he smiles than.
"You're going to stay there and enjoy the view or come here and eat your breakfast? It's getting cold." He says bemused.
What's so funny?
Then I remember my state. I'm wearing white PJs with black polka dots and a pink tank top. My hair is probably similar to a birds nest as I let them loose last night. I quickly try to set my hairs and then to not seem more idiotic than I already look, I go and sit in front of my breakfast.
It's a delicious sandwich. I start eating as I notice him working on his iPhone.
Why am I not surprised he has an iPhone?
I try to figure out why would he be here? He never comes in my area. I try to search for words to ask him without being rude that why is he here? Though I really wish I could say what I really want to say without filtering my words. Then I focus on my sandwich thinking he will inform me himself.
Right now, I really want to run to my room and wear a full sleeve shirt. I never wear sleeveless in front of anyone and then I'm totally disheveled.
He looks at me and opens his mouth to speak while I nervously put a lock of hair behind my ear. He stops and frowns looking at my wrist. And then I realize he is watching my cut.
Dammit! I quickly put my hand down try to hide my wrist.
"How did you get that cut?" He asks. His voice curious but demanding.
Why does he care?! His question makes me furious.
I do know that he has an idea how I got this cut and I know I can't fool him but I still try.....
"I don't know... I guess there was a crack..... In my closet.... And I somehow got the cut from there... Anyway! It's not a big deal. It's just a scratch." I say casually trying to dismiss the topic.
He looks at me for longer than a second then slightly nodes his head while looking at the table.
Phew! Thank God. Saved from unnecessary questioning.
"Why did you come here?" I quickly ask to change the topic.
"I wanted to ask about the project you're working on."
Oh damn! I didn't even think about the project.
"How much work have you done?"
Work? What work? I haven't even given it a thought!
"I haven't even started it," I mutter guiltily. He raises his brow.
That made me angry. What does he thinks? I'm Einstein?
"Hey! I can't just start it like that!" I said.
"Then how can you start?" He says mockingly.
"I need guidance" I mutter.
"Guidance. Hmm." He says looking at the window for a while.
"Why don't you talk to Clark?"
"Clark? Whose Clark?" I don't know any Clark, do I?
"Clark William?" He says like I'm an idiot who doesn't know the obvious thing.
I raise my eyebrow at him.
"How many Clark do you know?"
WTH?! "I don't know any Clark!"
"Your tutor, Alayna"
What? His name is Clark?
"You didn't know his name?" He asks after seeing my confused expression.
"I thought we were supposed to keep ourselves anonymous," I say sweetly. Way too sweetly.
"Not that anonymous." He says. "You can talk to him about the project. He will give you the guidance"
He is mocking me. Great.
"That's a good idea." It's really good. Spider will advise me and tell me my mistakes without judging me. He taught me everything. He might as well guide me.
"I need the project done in one week"
Are you kidding me?!
"I can't complete it so soon. I might as well take a month." I say casually.
"A month?!"
"Yes. A month" I say looking at the table. If I calculate my hours of working without disturbing my novel time (which is a huge sacrifice on my behalf), I don't get more time with my novel. Even 8 hours are not enough.....
I definitely need a month.
He sighed. "Okay, a month it is. But I need the work done by the end of the month." He says sternly.
"Okay." At least I got more time to work.
"Good." He stood up. "Meet you at dinner" With that, he left.
I continue my breakfast and then leave for my bedroom to arrange my disheveled state.
