9.) Belated Breath

Third Person Point Of View
Outside of the tunnels a few minutes after Jungkook left Taehyung at the tunnel.

"Hey Ho-Jin! Put me up to speed with the whole situation!" Jungkook yells at Ho-Jin who was jogging in front of him. Both males had their dominant hand clutching a simple hand gun. A hand gun doesn't scream safety but it is lighter than a machine gun.

"I'm not really sure either." Ho-Jin scratches the back of his head as Jungkook falls into step beside him. Jungkook just nods his head as they pick up speed.

"I guess we should check the wall first to see the damage." The dark brunette says as the two males make their way over to the wall. As they ran they kept their eyes sharp and their ears strained. They have to be on full alert for any stray cannibals.

"I know that cannibals are capable of using their brain to some extent. And I know they have a slight increase of strength to make up for their loss of their brain power." Ho-Jin says with a blank expression on his face. "But I never expected for them to break down a top secure wall."

Ho-Jin and Jungkook's faces stay blank, that is until they made it to the entry spot. At the sight of the wall Ho-Jin's jaw drops and Kook's eyes become giant saucers.

"H.. how could this be." I faint whisper of a voice echos out of open mouth of the older. The younger male just closes his friend's mouth as he shakes his head in disbelief.

Right in front of them stood the wall, perfectly in place with no damage in sight. And their was no way that the construction crew could've patched the wall up, they come out after the space is secure. So that leaves one gut wrenching possiblity left.

The wall was never broken in the first place. The wall would have been opened for the cannibals to come in. Hopefully this wasn't meant to happen and it was all a huge mistake.

"It's okay it's all okay." Jungkook lets out a shaky breath before continuing. "We don't know the full story, who knows what really happened with the wall." Jungkook smacks the other on his back as they turn from the wall.

"I guess it's time to go kick some flesh eating butt." Ho-Jin tries to cheer himself up with a light hearted statement. It worked for the most part and Jungkook let out an excited smirk.

The two combat ready males kicked their speed into high gear. They were ready for some action after months of peace. You could call the boys dare devil's, but they just simple enjoy an adrenaline rush.

Once the two reached the area of the eaters, a grin broke out on their faces. Admittedly they were scared to death but they were also very excited. Though their excitement turned into blood boiling rage as they saw all life less bodies littered on the ground. It was quite a gruesome sight, with all the people missing limbs and chunks of skin.

"At least this means we need no mercy." Ho-Jin tightened his jaw as the two lock eyes. From this moment forward their will be no holding back against the horrendous enemies.

The two split off from each other and join the other fighters in their quest to eradicate the eaters.

Sweat drips heavily from ends of Jungkook's dark hair. The male was breathing heavily while he ran around the streets with his gun ready to fire. He has been running for –roughly– an hour straight.

Jungkook turned down a sketchy open alley way. It was sketchy in the terms of overturn furniture and broken falling walls. Jungkook had definitely worked his way to the land of the unknown. Or in other words, the run down dump of the city.

The dark haired male decided that it was high time to take a break. So with labored breathing he slammed his back against one of the walls. The wall shuddered against the sudden hit of Jungkook's weight. A scaffolding that sat abandoned next to him creaked and swayed.

Jungkook stood with his back resting against the wall and took deep breaths to calm his heart a bit. He also took this moment to wipe his sweat with the hem of his shirt.

He also decided to stretch his calves out by picking his right leg up and kick it back and fourth. During his swinging of his right leg he accidentally smacked the wall with his foot.

Jungkook dropped his leg as the scaffolding squeaked and buckled under the sudden vibration. He sucked in a deep breath as he watched the scaffolding fall towards him in slow motion.

A hot searing pain shot through his left leg as the weight of the fallen object fell on his leg. The male hissed in pain as he fell to the floor by the newly added weight. So laying their on his side Jungkook decided he had enough adrenaline to get him self out of this mess.

With shaking and a numb body Jungkook worked his way onto his back. His brain was buzzing with thousands of thoughts about what could happen if he was really stuck. He also feared about the damage his leg could be in. He slowly sat up so he could find a way out of this sticky spot.

So with shaky hands and one free leg –that was curled against his chest– Jungkook kicked and pushed the heavy object off of his leg. The male sighed in success as the scaffolding landed with a grunt on the ground that was far from his body.

The now injured male attempted to move his leg to assess the damage. As he slowly attempted to move his leg, pain soared through the leg.

'It seems that luck is not on my side today', were the words Jungkook thought in his brain. His leg was either shattered or severally bruised, and boy was hoping it was the latter.

While Jungkook –now sat against the wall– thought that the day couldn't get any worse. A faint but noticeable sound of an inhuman noice rang out of the silent alley way.

Jungkook's head shot towards the direction of the sound. His breath came out all raggedly as he caught sight of a ghost white body moving towards him. His mind went blank once he noticed his gun just out of arms reach.

With belated breath Jungkook desperately reached for the gun as the cannibal raced towards him.
