Chapter 4 (Levi)

Levi kept his head low as he walked through the stalls that littered the streets. With the large amount of coin jingling in his pocket, he searched for a new shirt and anything more than the stale bread he had hidden away at home. Tear streaks still littered his cheeks, but he had managed to hide the bruising mark that sat like a branding on the base of his neck. 

After nearly two hours of searching, Levi was finally able to find a small tunic that fit closest to his size. In all honesty it made him feel as if he wasn't as thin as a rail. Along with the small shirt, Levi had acquired several fruits and a handful of meat that would last him for several days. Several days that he would not have to sell his body in the hopes of getting enough coin to keep himself alive. 

It was just beginning to get late as the small male made his way back to the tiny building he called home. It wasn't much but it was all he could afford. Though, in this new situation, he wasn't sure if he'd be able to afford it much longer. The bite mark that was imbedded into the base of his neck would never allow him to sleep with another. He could only ever be with his mate. A man he did not, nor never would know, for it was unlikely that he even remembered their night. Tears began to well up in the small Omegas eyes once again as he reached his home. But something was off. The door was open. 

Holding the bag of food and clothing close, Levi took several quiet sets towards the door. Inside was the last person he had expected to see. In all his glory stood the tall blonde that had turned his life upside down in just one night. In front of him stood the only man that Levi would ever be able to love. And the worst part, it was very clear now who was standing in front of him. 

"King Erwin" Levi said and bowed his head slightly fearing this would be the end of his miserable life. "What are you doing away from the castle." 

"I need to speak to you" He answered and stepped closer to Levi, pushing the door behind him closed. 

Levi swallowed hard, set the bags down and turned to the king hoping for the best. "Go on then."
