Chapter 3

Chapter Three: Cinderella in the Making.

"Hey, are you okay?" I blinked and shook my head for the nth time.

"Gosh!"

"Caiah! Are you even listening? Kanina pa kita tinatanong kung ayos ka lang ba, yet, you're there, just murmuring a lot of words that I can't comprehend." Sabi ni Theo sa kabilang linya.

I sighed.

"I'm sorry Theo. I just don't feel fine since last night. I'll call you later." I said as I ended the call.

I looked at myself in front of the mirror. Hindi ako nakatulog nang maayos kagabi because of the scene that I have witnessed. And also, for the fact that I lost my shoe!

Now, how am I supposed to wear the other shoe without its pair? Favorite ko pa naman 'yun.

"You know what Caiah? Just forget about that damned shoe and focus on your day." Bulong ko.

That's right. I still need to know if gugustuhin ko pa bang pumasok sa paaralan na ito for the next months or year.

Hindi na rin ako nagtagal sa harap ng salamin at dumiretso na papalabas ng dorm. I decided to live a normal life for the next days ko dito sa Kinston Academy kasi ayoko na ng gulo. Ayoko na sa problema. I have to maintain my status and to get that freaking incentives.

I walked gracefully and with my chin up. I need to bring back the old Caiah to show the people here na hindi ako basta-basta. Especially that fake brunette, aka, Prunette.

"Bad morning?" Nagpatuloy lang ako sa paglalakad despite of his presence. I know na hindi niya talaga ako titigilan hangga't hindi ako umaalis sa teritoryo niya.

"It was actually a good one but then you came, and it became a bad one." Ani ko.

I heard him chuckle. I was near the classroom when he walked faster and appeared in front of me while walking backwards.

"Have a good day, Samaniego!" He saluted and went away.

"Psycho." I muttered.

Pumasok na kaagad ako sa kwarto at naupo sa upuan ko. I decided to plug my earphones in my ears while flipping through my notes.

So far, ayoko lang makihalubilo sa mga tao dito. I have enough encounters with them and it's not good. If I want to stay here longer for the incentives, I need to be good and to stay away from any issues.

Kapag malayo ako sa kanila, there's a lesser chance na maiinvolve ako sa mga problema and there's a higher chance na tumagal pa ako dito. In that way, it's a win-win situation!

I smirked as I thought of these in my head.

"Have you heard the news?" I continued flipping through the pages in my notebook despite of the noise that I am hearing right now.

Siguro, I just have to stick my nose out of the issues so that I will not be involved in these. Ayos lang naman sa akin basta't hindi ako ang pinag-uusapan nila.

"What's the news?"

"Are you even kidding me? The whole R.A knows this na!"

"Just spill it!"

I increased the volume of what I am listening to dahil sa ingay ng mga chismosang nasa gilid ko pero ine sentence was enough to make me stop from doing it.

"Prince Nathan is finding for a girl who lost her shoe!"

Nanlaki ang mga mata ko at naibaba ko ang notebook na hawak-hawak ko.
