“My name is Atilia Shikobi, and me along with a bunch of others now live in a world ruled by technology and The Morbid”  I sighed, shutting off the camera, rubbing my face, peeking over at the oxygen monitor perched over my computer, pressing a green button on, a fresh burst of oxygen came into the room, making it easier to breath. We were the lucky ones, we lived in a building the descended into the earth. Mankind figured out that they could indeed live underground but still had to have sunlight. So some of us slept above the ground, while others slept underneath, thinking they were safer, but we will never be safe. We will always destroy ourselves, whether we try to or not.

I sat in my chair, staring at the oxygen monitor thinking how it came to this. Two years ago, we were all normal people leading normal lives, but now, we live like this, to scared to go outside in fear of the Morbid. The Morbid used to be called zombies, but now since they have evolved like all, living or undead things, they adapted. They were faster, stronger, and outnumbered humans.

I stood up, walking to the closet, I opened it, pulling out a red shirt and a pair of dark blue jeans, sliding them on. I stretched, and walked to my door, pressing another button, the door slid open. I smacked my forehead. “i forgot my blade” I mumbled to myself, looking up to see people looking at me just standing in the doorway. I turned back into my room, grabbing my blade, I slid it into the side of my jeans, stepping out, heading to the underground market. I felt in my pocket for my money, feeling it still there, I smiled to myself ever so lightly. I descended down the stairs, holding a death grip on the rail as I went down. I blinked as the overbrightness bore down on me when I entered the underground. The mechanics wanted to make it seem like daylight, but they had just made it blinding. My eyes eventually adjusted. I walked over to the dried meat stand first, buying jerky and dried fish. I put it into a bag and made my way to the produce stand, buying fruits and vegetables .
I looked for Gabriel, he had become one of the many officers down here. He had in fact saved the group at the school two years earlier when all this started. I spotted him near the electronic stand. I hurried over and hugged him. He looked taken back. “Atilia,is everything ok?” He questioned me, looking at me, his brows drawn together.”
“yeah I was thinking about what happened, how we were living. I was going to make a video diary ya know, to keep track of everything.” I shrugged my shoulders, running my fingers through my hair, shaking it in front of my face to keep from looking at anyone. “I just wish we could go back to the way we used to live ya know?”
Gabriel nodded “you know we can’t go back living that way Atilia, The Morbid would just take over again. The virus is in the air, in their bite.” He shook his head “the only way Tarah even survived was because she locked herself in a locker Atilia, you know this..” Gabriel mumbled softly “She couldn’t breathe in the pathogen and something in her blood made her immune to the bite. She won’t let us take her blood, so no we can not go back to living the way we were living before hell came up onto the earth” Gabriel almost snapped, his eyes staring at me.
I shivered and looked away from him “I know this, she was one of my bestfriend’s I know that she won’t let them”

I turned on my heel and stormed away back upstairs, rubbing my face. I would have slammed the door if I didn’t have to press that stupid button. I stood there watching the door close, before throwing myself onto the bed, groaning. I looked at the bags that were sitting on the floor. I let out another groan, sitting up I grabbed the bags and started to put the food up. I threw the bags into my bag holder, walking back to my computer. I sat down and stared at it, just sitting there when I heard a soft knock on my door.
I mumbled and got up, opening the door, Liam smiled, giving me a soft wave. His shaggy black hair was messy like he just rolled out of bed, his dark brown but soft eyes peering out from under it. He still wore his pajama bottoms with a black shirt. “Hey Liam, what’s up?” I asked softly, crossing my arms over my chest.
Liam shrugs “I saw you walk out earlier and come back pissed, what’s wrong?” He brushed his hair out of his face, peering down at me.
