If We Fell

I wrote this before he married another woman. Funny how a forever love can turn in to no love so quickly.

When all the life leaves your lungs

I will follow you home again

when the father home again calls

I will cling to you

free again

and when we walk the golden brick

paved with hope love and promises

we will look upon the stars like grass

and snicker at our broken pasts

We'll mourn the time we lived without,

the love that held our souls intact

my life changed the day I loved you.

But if our souls had lost their way

and heaven would be so far away

the flames would burn all of me

and eternity on fire and seared

across the flames there you would be

the fire would be less frightening

but our love is pure,

and you are all good

just know, no fall could ever end

the love that made me smile again
