Today was an... Odd day for Zak. He had a weird feeling in his stomach that something was going to happen. Usually when he feels like this, something does happen, but he can  never tell if it'll be good or bad.

With that in mind, he made sure to watch his step walking to the kitchen, chewing his breakfast cereal a little bit longer than usual. After an hour or so of sitting on the couch checking Twitter, Zak was confused by the lack of his room mate.

Usually, Darryl was up before him. He would watch the morning news, make coffee, and chat with Zak about any ideas he had for videos later.

The lack of the taller man made Zak's stomach turn. 'Maybe that's what's wrong?' He thought, setting his phone in his pocket and walking back down the hallway.

Darryl's room was on the left, right across from it was Zak's on the right. Even with their close proximity, they don't see each other as much as they should.

Zak stood in front of the door, his hands shaking and foot tapping. He was sure everything would be fine.

Raising his fist, he lightly rapped his knuckles on the thin wood. He didn't get a response. So he knocked again. Deciding knocking again was better than just barging in. When he, again, didn't get a response, he pressed his ear to the door. Even with the thin wood, Zak didn't hear anything. Usually he could at least hear the boys light snoring.

Shrugging to himself, he opened the door slowly. The creaking of the old hinges made Zak cringe, squinting his eyes to brace for an incoming yell. Nothing came. Instead he was met with an empty, dark, room. Darryl's bed was neatly made, the floor clear of clothes and items, and his desk was perfectly organized- save for the empty bottles of water.

Stepping further into the room, the door opened more, the action made the hung fairy lights on the walls light up. "Whoa." Zak whispered, spinning slowly to look at the display. Pictures, magazine clippings, napkins, stray drawings, and everything in-between littered the walls.

One paper, in particular, stuck out among the rest. It was a pastel yellow, lined, sheet- tacked to the wall and surrounded by neon glowing stickers. Their, in bold black ink, was written at the top of the paper.

"DATING CHECKLIST-BUCKET LIST"

Zak smiled softly, quickly taking his phone out to snap a picture. After making sure the picture wasn't blurry and he could read everything, he slipped it back in his pocket, freezing at the sound of the front door unlocking. Before he could think, he sprinted out of the room, turning at the last second and closing the door behind him silently. Spinning on his heel, he faced his door and placed his hand on the knob just in time.

"Oh! Zak, could you come and help me with the groceries?" He asked, placing his keys on the counter and removing the satchel from his shoulder.

The heat in Zak's cheeks didn't phase himself, he continued on as natural as possible. "You got it bad! I'll help ya out, come on baldy." He smiled, walking out the front door.

He heard Darryl's groan from behind him, "I am not Bald!" he shouted, chasing Zak down the stairs of their apartment.

[Time Skip]

By the time they had both gotten all the groceries inside, they were both out of breath from laughing and walking up the stairs. Remembering the picture on his phone, Zak looked at Darryl with determination. "Hey Darryl? Are you alright here? Would you mind if i worked on something for a little bit?" He asked, leaning on the counter, and cocking his head to the side.

Turning to face Zak, Darryl faltered. Zak's hair laid against his forehead softly, his eyes full of confidence, and his eyelashes cast soft shadows on his cheeks. "U-uh, yeah. Yeah, I-I'm alright. You go ahead." He said, wide eyed and flushed cheeks.

Smiling, Zak made his way around the counter and hugged Darryl. "Thank you! See you in a bit" He smiled, waving behind him as he walked to his room.

When Zak was in his room, Darryl leaned heavily against the counter behind him. Hiding his face in his hands as a smile practically split his face.

Zak payed no mind to the pounding in his chest, willing himself to focus for once. Pulling out his phone, he immediately went to the gallery. Throwing his phone on his bed, his grabbed a note pad and paper, laying on his stomach on his bed, he zoomed into the picture- making sure to take notes of which he could do easiest.

Making sure to put stars next to the ones he thinks would be the easiest, he decided which would be the perfect first one. Pressing the end of his pen to his mouth, he thought for a good second. Debating between a book shop and the aquarium.

In the end, he couldn't decide. Instead deciding to sit and chat with Darryl for a second. Upon walking out of his room and into the living space, his question was answered.
