Alex hummed softly as he made his way through the woods back home. He was quite happy with the amount of berries and fruit he picked. He wasn't much of a hunter. He left that job to his older brother, who was large in every way. But what he did do was cook whatever his Brother brought home and make dessert with what the fruit he himself brings home. His brother and him didn't have very much. Just a cottage in the edge of the woods.
For their parents have left them at a young age. His father was an alcoholic and a drug addict, the two things that drove him to his death. And then their was their mother who was broken hearted about her husband's death, she didn't care if the man had hurt he children for he always came first. Alex remembers finding her dead body hanging from branch with a rope around her neck. Him and his brother had buried her a day later. But the hadn't grieved. The women cared not for them and she wasn't willing to raise and love them.
His brother took the initiative and they moved and built their own home away from the villages. It was nothing much just a small cottage with 2 rooms a bathroom and a kitchen with a well in the back.
Alex smiles at the memory as he made his inside their home and he saw his brother out back with the deer he caught. Cutting it too pieces too cook because he knows his little brother won't. "Jaiden! What did I tell you about not making a big mess out back" Alex huffed putting his hand on his hip trying to look intimidating but with his 5'2 height, he didn't look like much. Though Jaiden decided to humor his brother. "Oh, my mistake I completely forgot, I will clean it up after. Oh brother mine don't hurt me" he said, mock aghast. Alex rolled his eyes and pouted "you never take me seriously" " how could I? Your so small and quite adorable." His brother chuckled and went back to cutting the poor animal to pieces.
Alex stepped back into the house because the blood from the animal was making him grimace. He went into their kitchen and washed his hands, preparing a blueberry pie. He went into town and got some flour and sugar. His brother came a bit later and with blood all over his pants and at the bottom of his shirt. Alex was unnerved so he made his brother go and take a wash in the river a mile away from their home. Then He went back to kneading the dough.
By the time the pie was done the meat should have been clean of blood so he went back out to grab it and cut it some more in to edible peaces. Than he went and got the rice from the closet and put it into boiling water. He took the pie out and put it near the window to heat. Eventually his brother came back in looking fresh and clean. "Smells good" Jaiden said with appreciation. "You truly are my favorite brother."
"Jaiden, I'm your only brother, unless you've been cheating on me!" Alex said with a playful kind of offense that made Jaiden laugh and go give his brother a kiss in the cheek. " How dare you accuse me of such a crime! Why I love you more than anything. Must I punish you saying such thing? I think i should" before Alex could react he was being mercilessly tickled by his brother. He was thrown in a fit of laughter that not even words came out correctly "St- Stop!" He finally managed after a bit.
Jaiden took mercy and let go in his own laughing bubble. Alex huffed and kicked his brother in the shin. "That hardly hurt Alex" Jaiden said laughing harder then before. Alex rolled his eyes and picked up the spatula"Careful brother or I will you hurt you some more" that made Jaiden stop his fit and look at Alex with wide eyes " You wouldn't" he challenged " I would" Alex looked him dead in the eyes.
Jaiden pouted and left the kitchen muttering something about how Alex was supposed to be the sweet one. Alex rolled his eyes and yelled out for his brother to set the table which he replied with an 'ok' . He took out their dinner and set it out on the table. Than Alex went back to retrieve the pie that cooled a little to much, something that made Alex frown a bit, but he shrugged ' better than nothing' he thought and went to set it on the table.
Jaiden dug in the minute he sat down. Alex rolled his eyes took his plate and sat down on his seat. Both boys seemed to be content unaware of the red eyes that seemed to be stalking them, but those eyes were staring at it's sweetheart. Satisfied that it's heart wasn't harmed in anyway. It turned and made it's way through the forest and back to it's cave where it and it's Master resided. "Master, his 18th birthday is not for another week but can we not have him now" the beast rumbled. It's master chuckled, a dark sadistic chuckle that made the beast shiver in delight "Not yet, sweetness. We cannot take them yet, I will admit though one of them is older than 18, but remember we can't snatch him up. He has political powers, lots of it. We'll have both of them eventually. Patience" his master softly rumbled.
The Beast was not satisfied with his master's decision but learned long ago it was best not to argue.Meanwhile Alex and Jaiden were getting ready to turn in for the night. Alex though was a bit tense during the dinner as if some one was watching him. The feeling washed away eventually and he went and turned in for the night. If only he know his life was going to forever change
Hey, I hope your enjoying so far, so I might be updating throughout the month. I decided that I would like to write and actually enjoy it. I was very unhappy with the other books that I published so I deleted them, not many people saw them anyway. But I'am pretty proud of this chapter and I hope you like it too
