Part 2.

Nobody's POV:

It's been weeks and Rita would always find Jason staring at her and the second she looks at him, he would look away like he wasn't looking at her for the last few minutes. She wouldn't be able to not smile, but at the same time it was confusing because nobody has ever been looking at her. 

She isn't a very famous person. In fact, you could call her kind of a loner..Ever since the first grade of high school she would always be alone, just her and her headphones. She would sit on the bench outside of school every time the bell rang and those couple of minutes would be her little escape. Especially before a huge test, she would always go to that bench, put some good music on and let her mind go for a second just to relax so she could write the test best way she can. But then she meet Mia at one of their classes and they became friends. Her family was happy she finally found a friend, they actually thought she was depressed but in fact she never was, she only got hurt so many times before that she stopped letting people in. But there was something different about Mia. The moment they meet was when Mia took a sit next to Rita first time the class started. Even though a lot of tables were open, she still sat next to Rita. As confused as she was, she couldn't help but ask her 'there are a lot of sits open, you don't have to sit next to me..' (she didn't say it in a mean way but in a way like 'hey, I'm kind of a weird person and people don't talk to me so I don't see the reason why would you want to talk to me) and then the thing Mia said as if she could read Rita's mind was the thing that pulled the trigger of their friendship : 'I've been hurt too, you know. And I don't trust people either. So there, we already have something in common. Why wouldn't we be friends?' And that was true. Mia was hurt by a lot of people. For instance, her ex best friend took over her boyfriend right after he took Mia's virginity. They planned it all along that he does it and then they tell the whole school. It was a whole scam they planned for doing to her since she moved there. That is the reason why Mia has been moving a lot and she could because she kinda has control over her parents. They own a lot of money since their jobs are very good so they could afford moving, selling houses and buying new ones. On the other hand, Rita's story is a bit different. She hasn't ever had a boyfriend. She did kiss a boy and everything but she never was 'someone's girl'. Not that she thought about it because she never really wanted to be 'owned' by someone. All of her past friends would take advantage of her sweet heart. She wouldn't be able to help herself when someone would ask her for something, she would always put her needs behind theirs. Never put herself first, never cared about herself so much. But the moment when she realized they were taking advantage of her, she ended every friendship there was. She couldn't believe in people anymore since there wasn't a single person that didn't take advantage of her. Not a single person!

But it's all history now. Rita lets people in only if Mia gives a thumbs up on them. They have this test they came up with a long time ago and they always do it with all of Mia's potential boyfriends. Even though things have changed in the last couple of months (with Mia becoming a cheerleader, she started seeing guys for only one night), they still are the best friends they started being 2 years ago when they meet. 

M: So, that Jason guy..You know he's a senior, right? And he's in a band too?

R: So? 

M: So? Rita, so? Are you serious right now?

R: -looks at her- 

M: Rita, let's get something straight okay? He's hot, in a band, a senior and interested in you. Why wouldn't you go talk to him? And don't give me the crap about how it isn't true that he is interested cause that kid has been staring at you for the last few weeks, okay? And you obviously like him too since you look back at him.

R: Why would I make the first move? He's the guy, guys make first moves. Besides, if I go talk to him there are only two possible things that could happen. A) I could freeze after hello and B) He could embarrass me in front of the whole school.

M: Maybe he won't.

R: What?

M: ..But you'll find out now. -gives her the nodd-

Rita tured around and Jason was standing right behind her, gazing at her blue eyes.

M: Uhm,.I'm gonna see you later. -smiles and walks away-

R: Hi. -smiles-

Jason: Hey. -smiles back-

Rita doesn't say a word after that. She opens her mouth but the words just don't come out. 

J: Hey uhm, I was wondering..If..

R: -looks at him again- Yeah?

J: If you'd like to work on that English project with me?

R: Hm? English project?

J: Yeah, the project is that you have to find a person at school..that doesn't go to the same English class with you...and you have to take them to the movies. 

R: -giggles, looks down- 

J: ...And after that you have to take that person home and thats it. -smiles-

R: Wow, you really need to work on your flirting. -giggles-

J: Yeah I know...It's kinda hard when a beautiful girl is in front of me.

R: -looks down, blushes- Okay, well uhm..I'll think about it. -looks at him, smiles-

J: Alright, fair enough. -smiles back-

R: I'll see you at the parking lot after 8th period.

J: Okay.

R: ..And then you'll find out if I will your partner in this..English project. -giggles-

J: Alright, I'll see you then. -smiles and walks away-

Rita's POV:

This could be fun. I mean, maybe I should do it. Come out of my comfort zone for the first time and..I mean, it's just the movies. And Mia is right, would it kill me to try? No, right? But what if it's a mistake, what if he ends up breaking me, breaking my heart? 

'Then there I come in.'

I turned around and saw Mia. God, sometimes it just scares me of how much she could read my mind. It's like I don't have to say a word, she already knew everything.

M: I'll be there to pick up all the broken pieces. -comes closer to Rita- Look, there is no way we could go trough life being afraid. Hell, I don't wanna be that kind of a person anymore Rita. We can do better then that, of course there will be times when people will let us down and hurt us but then we'll have each other. Me and you is forever. Those people can screw themselves, I will never let you down. I promise. But, we can't keep on doing this. Actually, you can't keep on doing this, I stopped the moment when I joined the cheerleaders. It's time you come out of your comfort zone as well and find something..That includes other people, okay?

R: Yeah, you're right..But..

M: No buts! Just leave it at that okay? It's perfect that way. -smiles and walks to her class-

I hate it when she's right. And I hate it when she does that. I know she's right but I don't know if I'm ready yet. I don't know if I can trust anyone.

Wait, what? Of course I can. I have Mia. That's all that matters. She's right, I have to take this chance. And I will. I'm gonna go to him and tell him I'll go to the movies with him. Yeah, I'll do it.

Nobody's POV:

Rita couldn't wait until the 8th period ended so she could see him. Time seemed to pass by so slow, but now it's finally time. She went out of classroom right to her locker, put all her books in there and went in the girls bathroom really fast to check out how she looked. When she was ready to face him, she went out of school and headed to the parking lot. As it's a parking lot with 5-6 rows, she had trouble finding him. In fact, the only two people on there was this couple that were making out. On a car..That stopped by a few weeks ago, with a person asking her if she needs a ride. 

Everything was crystal clear at that point. Jason is just like everybody else. He took a chance to ask her out on a date but ended up making out with another one at the same spot where they were suppose to meet. Boys are jerks.

Rita only turned around and started walking home, leaving all of her books at her locker and going home with an empty backpack.
