They set off for the studio at ten thirty on the day of the filming. The studio where they were going to shoot the TV Talent episode was only fifteen minutes away from the YG building, so they made a pit stop at a roadside stall for hotteok pancakes and bubble tea. One of the perks of being part of a group who were pretty much just five-year-old's trapped in the bodies of adults.

The sun was practically a yellow watermark in the sky. Jisoo could hardly feel any warmth from the pavement outside the dessert stall where she shivered, a cup of bubble tea in each hand. She glanced at the stall where Linda and Jennie were ordering the pancakes. The other two were waiting in the car, preferring to desert their friends for the car's heater.

Jisoo walked over to where the car was parked and knocked on the window. Lisa rolled it down and gazed at her over the top.

'Here, take these. I need to help carry the desserts.'

Lisa rolled the window the rest of the way down and took the drinks from her. 'Don't forget that mine is the one with strawberry syrup.' Jisoo's brain was too frozen to think of a fitting insult. 'Lazy bum,' she muttered.

Walking back to the desert stall, she felt her phone buzz in her pocket. She took it out and nearly tripped over when she checked the screen.

MCV:
hello jisoo! are you busy?

What!? Why now?! she nearly screamed, and immediately checked if Linda and Jennie needed her. They did not, so...

J:
Hello! yes, i can chat for a bit. whats up?

MCV:
Nothing really. everyone's so busy getting ready right now, and i'm BORED. wbu?

J:
We're on the way to the studio right now, but we made a stop for dessert.

MCV:
Dessert? what sort?

J:
Hotteok and boba.

MCV:
Wow, do you think you could save me some?

J:
Hah, not likely.

MCV:
😭

She laughed. Jennie glanced at her. 'What are you doing?'

'Nothing.'

'Hmm.' She narrowed her eyes at her playfully. 'Really?'

'Yes, really,' Jisoo said, trying to stop a goofy smile from spreading over her face. 'Hey, the pancakes are ready,' Linda reported. Jennie leaned over to help. She grabbed the chance to reply.

J:
aww dont cry, i'll treat you after the filming if we can sneak away.

A sticker of a cheering bear popped up.

MCV:
promise, right?

J:
mmm, sure. its my turn anyway.

'Jisoo-yah, what are you doing? Come on, or we'll leave you behind.'

She snapped back to reality and took a bag from Jennie. 'Sorry, I was texting a friend.'

'What sort of friend, I wonder?' Linda teased. She laughed it off, but she couldn't help but notice that Jennie looked a little worried. Jisoo fell into step beside her.

'What's wrong?'

'Nothing.' She smiled, but it was half-hearted.

'Uh-oh. What's up, Jennie Kim? And I won't take 'nothing' for an answer again.'

Jennie sighed. 'Fine. What did YG sajang-nim talk to you about yesterday? You still haven't told me what he said.'

'Oh. That. You know, the usual. Rosé and Lisa. What would happen if they... went down an unfortunate path.'
