Tyler's POV
Tonight was gonna be amazing. Im talking about starting of my senior year with the best fucking party ever, hosted by none other than, yours truly, the one and only, Tyler Moore. Some people think that Im just a stuck up, hard ass jock but thats not true. I mean sure, I occasionally cause problems and abuse my social status, but who wouldn't? Im also known as a player. That is soo wrong. I mean girls love me, who can blame 'em, I'm the best lookin' guy you'll ever meet.
"Hey Mason everything ready?! People are gonna be showing up in 30 minutes!" I gotta admit, besides my cocky personality, I was actually a little nervous. Its highschool I shouldnt care what people think about me, right? But this was different, in the morning I started my new school, West Valley High, and this was my chance to meet some of the kids that went there. My parents were all for it, considering they let me have this party while they were out. Something about getting to meet new people and making a good impression, but hey I wasnt complaining.
"Yea man, we're all good." Mason Foxx, my best friend, we were like brothers, Ive known the guy since the 1st grade so we're practically family. I asked him to help with the party and he didn't even hesitate in calling a DJ and ordering a keg. I honestly think he just wants to meet some of the girls from my new school, but I could care less, I was glad he was here. He runs through a list of stuff just to make sure we arent forgeting anything.
"Beer?"
"Check."
"Music?"
"Check."
"Food?"
"Check."
"Confidence?" I pause not sure how to answer.
"Still working on it."Shaking his head, Mason put a hand on my shoulder and gave me an amused look. "What?"
"Dude why are you so nervous?" Why was I nervous? New town, new house, new school, yea maybe that's it. This was a chance for me to reinvent myself, something Ive wanted to do for a while now. Maybe I could play the role of a bad boy. Nah too much work. Maybe be 'Mr.Perfect'? Would that be something Im good at? Maybe its time for me to settle down anyway, the jumping in and out of relationships was getting boring and tiring too. It would be nice having just one girl saying my name, giving me kisses, hugging me and cuddling up to me, texting me cute goodmorning messages, and oh my god I sound like a chick. "Earth to Ty, wake up dude!!"
"Huh? Sorry was just thinking about something."
"Oh? Wanna sit and paint our nails while we talk about it?" He laughs as he checks over everything again.
"Very funny." I say.
"Whatever, whatcha thinking so hard about anyway?"
"Just that now's as good time as any for me to get a real girlfriend." Mase was a good guy he would understand.
"Pft" Guess not. I punch him in the arm and he just laughs more. "Big shot Tyler Moore wants to be tied down? Dude, you couldnt keep a girlfriend for more than a month without sleeping with someone else." I had to think about that. That wasn't true, I mean sure I'd fool around, but Ive only slept with three people. Besides I liked to think that I was different now, more mature, but the way he put it made it seem like it was impossible.
"Is it so hard to believe that I want a real girlfriend?" I ask, a bit annoyed that he thought it couldnt happen in a million years. He doesn't answer, waving me off as he turns around to look at the house.
I have to say for us to be dudes, we did a dawm good job setting up. There were streamers down the walls, a keg in the corner, with the signature red cups, and all of the food was in the kitchen. I wouldn't say my house was huge, but it was enough space for shit to go down. I had put away all the expensive vases my mom bought, and hid my dad's liquor, just in case. I had to think about if I wanted people going in the pool and finally decided fuck it. I hope it disnt look too simple, but with high schoolers, simple was good. All in all the deco was decent enough to look like a house party and not some nine year old's birthday bash. The doorbell rang and Mason opened the door, letting in about 10 people. One girl walked by and he gave me a thumbs up, as he followed after her. Sometimes I wonder why we're friends, he's such a slob.

The party was in full swing by the time the clock struck seven. Apparently some people couldn't hold their liquor and were already drunk, and stumbling around or dancing to the booming music. The DJ was taking request left and right and I was pleased with how cool things were progressing. While doing my rounds, and making sure everybody was having a good time, I met some guys from the school I'd be starting at. I told them I played football and they said I should try out for the team tomorrow after school tomorrow. I can hear my mom now, "Daww look at my baby making friends", yea she'd definitely say something like that.
"Ow"
I look down to see a girl sitting on her ass. I put my hand out to help her up and she takes it. I pull her up, and of course my strength getting the best of me, she smacks into my chest. She quickly pulls back and regains her balance.
"Sorry, wasn't paying attention, you ok?" I ask after just staring at her like an idiot. Well thats new.
"Uh yea I'm good, dont worry about it." And with that she walks away. Ok so I know Id just walked into her and everything but she didn't even stop to talk to me, its like I didnt even get her attention, hell attention should be my middle name goddawmit, but she didnt give it to me, what a weird girl. I decide not to be a 'brat' as Mason calls it and forget about the girl and her rudeness.
After I see that everyone is having a good time I head to the kitchen to get a drink. I settle for a cup of beer, not really wanting to get buzzed tonight, and head outside to the back yard. I see a few people making out on the back porch and some splashing their feet in the pool and talking, then I see someone sitting alone on the swinging bench. I head over and see none other than the girl I'd just bumped into a second ago. She doesn't notice me until I sit down next to her, and the swing moves. She mutters a sorry and starts to get up. "Hey, stay a while, I dont bite." I say with a smile and she seems to relax. We sit there in an awkward silence, that becomes unbearable for me, so I break it. "So....?" I look at her realizing I have yet to get her name.
"Tierney." She says amused.
"Tierney." I repeat."Cute name." I say, and I notice she smiles a little, and that's also cute.
"Thanks."
"So you ok?" She looks at me oddly and I realize that that was kind of a random question. "Sorry, I know we don't know each other, but this is my party, and I don't want any sad campers on my watch." I say making her laugh, and oh God her laugh, as corny as it sounds, was music to my ears. "Glad I could make you laugh" I say looking forward and taking my hand through my messy dark brown hair.
"Yea me too." She says then I hear her let out a sigh.
"I'm Tyler by the way but you can call me Ty if you want." I tell her.
"Nice to meet you Mr.Ty" It was my turn to laugh and she joined in.
We sat there talking for a while and I found out that she goes to the school I'd be attending. I think over whether or not to tell her, but decide against it. Instead I told her I was new to town and that she would most definitely be seeing me around. She looked kind of freaked out by that, as she crinkled her nose. Cute. She does a lot of cute things. If she saw me tomorrow I'm sure she'd be surprised, but a little surprise never hurt anyone. At least not any of mine. The party had died down a bit so we went back inside. She never told me what was wrong but I could tell that I got her mind off of it, so that was a plus for me. She surprised me and gave me her number, and told me to text her sometime. I would definitely be doing that soon. After that she said her goodbyes and left. Maybe she was the one. The one to 'tie down the mighty Tyler Moore'. Could she be my chosen one? Too dramatic? Whatever. All I know is, tomorrow was gonna be interesting. West Valley High here I come.
