Chapter 4 Is This a Date?

Dome paced back and forth in his study he wanted to meet Pavel and talk to him; but his thoughts kept going back to his dreams; and the night in his room. He shook his head he had to get rid of these thoughts somehow.
He felt something rub up against his leg he looked down and saw Earth's cat staring at him. He picked it up and began to pet the cat which began to purr maybe he could picture Pavel as a cat? He shook his head that wouldn't work he thought. Dome sighed
"What's wrong My Lord?" Dome was snapped out of his thoughts by Earth.

"I want to see him again..but I don't want to frighten him? What should I do?" Earth thought about it while he was observing humans he noticed that they all talked about trivial things that seemed unimportant. They also just greeted each other
"Well most humans I've watched say hello first then they talk about silly things."

Dome furrowed his brows. "What kind of silly things?" Earth shrugged his shoulders, "Most humans talk about the weather, what they're doing or where they're going humans like knowing things guess it makes them feel safe." Dome thought about this and realized that it made sense. Humans did enjoy nonsense he just never bothered to care or listen.

Dome was processing this information when Ben walked in looking stressed. He had just come from the Kings office and had been orders. "The King wants you to look for new talent tonight." Ben was bracing for Dome to curse or to throw things; but he was surprised to find Dome sitting calmly at his desk with a smirk.
"I'm concerned that you're smiling usually you hate when the King gives you orders. What are you planning." Dome gave Ben a mischievous grin Ben was right he usually hated having to do his fathers bidding but for once it might prove useful. "What could I possibly be planning? Aren't you the one who keeps telling me that I should take my duties seriously?" Ben looked wary he wasn't sure why but he knew he didn't like it.

Dome put the cat down and stood up, stretched out his arms and asked "How do I look? Should I change into something more casual? Should I wear a lighter suit?" Ben grew even more concerned while Dome was always well dressed he had never cared this much.
"Why the sudden interest when you're just going to be interacting with humans?" Dome was about to advise him to mind his business when he heard Earth say

"He wants to go see that human and now he has an excuse. That's why he's so excited." Dome wanted to punch Earth at this moment but couldn't bring himself to harm him. Ben cleared his throat and tried to be tactful.
"Lets put aside whatever feeling you have for him; do you think he'd make a good model? If you can say yes then we can pay him a visit."
Dome frowned he didn't want to bring Ben and Earth with him to see Pavel. He didn't want to scare him away.

"I will agree to do my fathers business if you let me meet with him alone." Ben walked up to Dome and said "I'm not sure how wise that is considering what happened the last time." Dome cleared his throat "The cafe will be lit on the inside and will be filled with enough humans that would make it difficult for me to control all of them."
"We can wait in the car at a distance so you can some privacy and we'll feel more secure. Everyone wins see!"

Ben and Dome both agreed. Pavel was thankful that he hadn't woken up to anymore strange dreams or the feeling of someone watching him. He hadn't even told Nine and Archen afraid that one they wouldn't believe him and two he would never hear the end of it. Pavel was too busy to notice the sudden cold chill in the air; but he jumped when he saw Dome in front of the counter.

"Fuck Man! What are you a ninja? How did you not make any noise?" Dome smiled even when he cursed he was cute. "I didn't mean to scare you I apologize." Pavel shook his head "Whatever do you want to order something? I'm about to close up the shop." Dome just ordered a black coffee and sat down at the table closest to the counter. Pavel continued cleaning or tried to he wasn't looking directly at him but he felt Dome looking at him.

"Ummm so you must work really late since you're still in a suit." Dome nodded, "I work odd hours since I work in the entertainment field." Pavel thought back he vaguely remembered Domes business card. "Oh I remember you gave me your card." Pavel turned bright red as he remembered exactly how he had met Dome and coughed.

Dome smiled he was glad Pavel hadn't forgotten about that night. Dome brought the coffee to his nose it smelled nice he took a small sip. "Uhhh how's the coffee? Do you want sugar or anything?" Dome shook his head "What are you doing after you close the shop?"

Pavel paused and looked at Dome curiously "Why are you asking?" Dome stood up walked over to Pavel and said "I'd like to get to know you better that's all can I?" Pavel's back was against the pastry display "Umm Bro there's other people here back up please." Dome cursed to himself he had forgotten for a second to control himself. He backed away straighten his tie and said

"I apologize I didn't realize I had gotten so close...so do you have anything planned after." Pavel shook his head "Nahh I have uni tomorrow so I'm just going home." Dome could feel his chance slipping "Would you mind if I stayed until you closed?" Pavel didn't look back at him as he nodded his head.
