Chapter 5 Being Human

Dome didn't understand how humans could endure the heat as he felt it barreling down on him. He was beginning to regret coming out during the day when he saw Pavel walking towards him; wearing his tight school uniform shirt and his black tight jeans. Dome swallowed how were students allowed to wear clothes like this he thought.

"Hey did I make you wait long? The professor wouldn't shut up. Aren't you hot in that suit?" Dome smirked he didn't really know the reason but he enjoyed listening to Pavels chaotic rapid fire nature. "Which question do you want me to answer first?" Pavel ran his hand down the back of his head. Pavel wasn't used to feeling nervous.
"Fuck! Sorry I talk a lot uhhh let's go."

Dome opened the car door for him. Pavel's cheeks turned red as he mumbled thank you. Once inside Dome blasted the AC Pavel shifted in his seat. He understood that he agreed to hang out with him but now he wasn't sure what to do. He got startled when Dome cut through the silence.

"Did you have something you wanted for dinner? And I apologize if I frightened you; but you don't have to scared of me." Pavel brushed him off and said "Why would I be scared of you?" Dome stopped driving leaned to Pavel's ear and whispered "Are you sure you're not scared?" Pavel trembled but managed to push Dome away. "Dude bro chill." Dome straightened and forced himself to remember not to get carried away.

Pavel played with the zipper of his backpack it was awkward now "So do you do anything for fun?" Pavel doubted guy driving knew what fun was but it was better than sitting in silence. Dome had to think besides running the business, hunting, and reading Dome didn't do fun.

"I'm busy with the business mostly so I don't have a lot of time for things." Pavel sighed "If you don't have time for things why are you hanging out with me then?" Dome didn't have to think about his answer, "I told you in the cafe that I liked you and I want to date you."

Pavel coughed he knew why Dome scared him now he was too direct. "Can I date you?" Pavel didn't dare look at Dome "Ummm maybe we should just eat first there's a buffet place that I like here." Pavel pointed to the Siam Center and quickly got out of the car. Dome sighed courting a human was harder than he thought; and he wasn't sure what the rules were.

Dome managed to eat a little as to not arouse suspicion and he did his best to hide his discomfort with the lights; but he looked over at Pavel who looked happy; and his discomfort didn't seem to matter anymore. Pavel made him laugh with his dirty jokes and boyish charm. He wanted to give this boy everything he wanted.

Pavel tried to focus on the food in front of him but every so often he would catch Dome looking at him; he wasn't exactly sure what he was feeling but he liked making him laugh; his laugh was clear and mellow. Pavel cleared his throat, "So do you have friends? Or are you too busy for them to?" Dome could tell he was teasing but he wasn't sure if he could call Ben and Earth his friends exactly but they were the closest thing he had to them.

"I have friends Ben and Earth they're more like brothers." Dome already knew who Pavels friends were but Earth told him it was important for him to look as human as possible so he still asked. "Umm I got a lota friends but I'm really close to Nine and Archen they're like a couple but they don't say they're a couple. Its annoying"

Dome listened to Pavel talk about everything from his dreams of becoming famous to his gaming channel; and everything else.
"If you want my father owns a talent company. What do you want to do?"

"You can't laugh promise me you won't laugh." Dome nodded his head "I want to be a fashion designer. I have all these  ideas and I know I can do it." Dome admired Pavel's Passion "We can help you." Pavel shook his head and said

"I don't want to owe you anything; I know you want to help; but I want to do this on my own." Dome wanted to compel him to let him help but he felt this was one of the things Earth told him not to do. "If you change your mind I'll be here; are you done with dinner? Do you want to go anywhere else?"

Pavel looked at his phone it was just after 7pm and Nine was waiting back at the condo for their study session. "I should go home I have study group." Dome stood up "I'll take you home" Pavel shook his head as he put his backpack on "Nahh it's fine I can take a motorbike."

Dome wanted to push but Earth kept telling him in his head to stop. "I'll walk to the stop then." Pavel nodded the walk to the stop was short and they were the only two there. "Ummm thanks for the meal I'll get the next one...I mean whatever." Pavel kicked imaginary dirt. Dome placed his hand on his cheek

"I would like that very much. I would also like to kiss you can I do that?" Pavels whole face turned red he was barely able to nod. He closed his eyes as he felt Domes lips press against his this time his kiss was soft and warm. He didn't even use tongue but somehow it still managed to suck the air out of him.

"Please call me I'll be waiting" Pavel then watched Dome disappear back into the mall. Dome was pleased with himself he thought he had played being human rather well. He was still smiling to himself when he saw Ben and Earth waiting for him.
"You're playing with fire you know." Dome smirked "I Don't know what you mean."
