I finished looking at my stats, disappointed at how low my scores were. I knew that Jaune wasn't that strong in the anime, but holy crap he was one of the most disappointing characters in any anime I've ever seen. I would have to grind my status up to an acceptable level. Despite not knowing the strength of most first years at Beacon, but my intuition told me that I was at least ten times weaker than them. I looked around my room, seeing the holy grail. In the corner of the room, was a set of adjustable weights. Walking over to them, I saw the plates that could be attached to the bars. For the pair of dumbells, they ranged from the bar weighing ten pounds, all the way up to 50 pounds. There was also a deadlifting bar, a pull-up bar, along with some resistance bands. The deadlifting weight could range from the 15 pounds, the bar, all the way up to 250 pounds, full weight with all plates being attached. While it would take a while to get these wet noodles for arms to acceptable strength, it would be quite worth it.
"Jaune!" I heard a feminine voice shout my name from down on the main floor of my new house. "It's time for you to come down to eat breakfast, I don't want you to be hungry on your way to beacon academy!"
I hadn't realized that God had put me this close to where the show starts. I expected at least a week before getting thrown headlong into all of this, but alas, it was not meant to be. I didn't think that I would be able to use the weights until I got fully settled into the dorm rooms of Beacon. Well, that's assuming that I would actually pass the entrance exam. Unlike the anime, Jaune Arc is going to be a name remembered for ages.
"Young man, get down here right now!" the woman demanded from below me.
I rushed out of the room, not very eager to face the wrath of an angry woman. I knew all too well from my past life that no matter the size of the woman, they were always the scariest thing in the universe. Wait no, make that multiverse. If it was scary to face the anger of a normal woman, I couldn't even comprehend what it would be like to face a woman that has magic-like abilities. That was only pushed further into the realm of nightmares due to the fact that I remembered Jaune's parents were some the strongest huntsmen of their time. With all of that combined with the fact that I was ninety-nine percent sure that the woman calling me was my new mother, I practically flew down the stairs to answer to her call.
"I made you breakfast, sweetie," my mother told me in a sweet tone as she placed a plate of piping hot pancakes.
I quickly scarfed my breakfast down, eager to head to the school that I could only imagine. I grabbed my sword and shield, attaching the former to my belt where it hung in its sheath while strapping the latter to my forearm like in the anime. The airship that was supposed to take me to Beacon wasn't that far away. The docks for airships in Remnant were quite peculiar, it was just normal open ground, nothing special.
After about an hour and a half of flying on the airship, a hologram of a blonde woman appeared in the center of the standing area. Despite the fact that I already knew exactly who it was, I still listened quite intently to the information that she offered.
"Hello, my name is Glynda Goodwitch, and you are among the esteemed few that have been chosen to attend Beacon...." the rest of what hologram Glynda was going to say was tuned out by my horribly timed motion sickness.
Making my way as fast as possible to the trash can, I let my breakfast escape. I was lucky enough to not anger Yang by puking on her shoe, but that did not make the experience any more pleseant. What felt like hours of hurling my insides out later, the airship finally landed. I got off the metal demon as fast as possible, hoping to find a sense of relief in the solidity of land.
Just like in the anime, a large explosion of dust occurred, along with the bickering of the entitled heiress, and the bookworm black cat. What I hadn't noticed before in the hours of the airship flight was the fact that a lot of attention was directed at me. This could be attributed to my Grimm faunus parts. Shaking my head and walking up to Ruby, the girl who had been in the center of the explosion, I quickly introduced myself.
"Hey, my names Jaune Arc, what's your name?" I asked the small girl, despite already knowing the answer to that question.
"Oh, my name is Ruby Rose..." she trailed off as she looked at me, noticing the peculiar look that I boasted. She started to fangirl and ask me a million questions. Despite being fluent in many languages in my old life, I had zero luck being able to decipher the high-speed onslaught of questions hurled at me by the small red and black-haired girl.
"Whoa there Ruby, slow down there, I can't understand anything that you are saying," I told her as I held up my hands in mock surrender.
"Oh, sorry," she apologized, taking a deep breath. "I'm just so amazed by how your faunus attributes look... they're almost Grimm-like."
I rubbed the back of my head nervously. "well that's because my faunus part is a Grimm, hence the reason why I have red eyes, horns, and pale skin," I informed her.
I hadn't realized that we were walking while talking, and before we knew it, we were extremely lost. Despite RWBY being one of my favorite anime, I never bothered to actually study the layout of Beacon academy. An awkward silence ensued as I contemplated on how to find the ceremony hall.
"Well I have this thing," Ruby blurted out, fully extending her scythe, Crescent Rose, to its full size. Just looking at it made my simple sword and shield feel inadequate. "It's a scythe that can also transform into a high impact sniper rifle," she boasted
I nodded my head, actually understanding the meaning of what she said instead of being completely clueless to the composition of her weapon like the original Jaune was. I unsheathed my sword while extending my shield to show her my lame in comparison, weapons.
"Well, uh, I have this sword, and this shield that I can shrink down whenever I get tired," I stated lamely.
"Um, wouldn't the shield still weigh the same no matter what?" Ruby questioned.
"Yeah, it does..." I trailed off in embarrassment. "Oh crap, we're gonna be late to the entrance ceremony if we don't hurry!" I told the small girl frantically. We sprinted in the direction of the hall, hoping to make it there on time.
