Artist got up a little while later, grunting as pain shot through their head. They stumbled as they began walking as far they could before it kicked in. A voice seemed to be stirring in the back of their mind, whispering like the wind.
You know what he said? Go on, you know you can't disobey. Stop running away or this will just end up more painful. Just give up, give in, let go of control and I'll do the rest.  It whispered.

Artist clenched their teeth, their subconsciousness yelling back, Stop it! I fought you back, I rid myself of you! So why are you back? I thought I made it to where it didn't work anymore!

It only laughed back, not replying as Artist neared the edge of town. Something stopped Artist as they were about to exit, suddenly they clenched their head yelling in pain. This continued for a few before it stopped and Artist turned, starting to walk back towards Claire's house.

Now that's a good little Artist, go back and do what he told you. It said, pleased.

The real life Artist looked distressed as their legs moved on their own, not letting them decide. Dapper, however, was looking from afar.

"They always try to fight back, huh? I wonder when they will learn there's no fighting against orders." He commented, smirking as a helpless Artist walked towards the one place they wished to avoid.

He chuckled, "It's nice to have my little puppet back, they couldn't go too long free, because then what would they say? Nothing good, leaking things when it came back into memory."

Artist on the other hand was having a war in her mind as two sides fought.

Let go of control! I don't want to play your stupid game! I just want a normal life!

You know he wouldn't be very happy if I let go. Plus you've had fun for years while I've sat on the side lines, so it's my turn.

I can't betray her! Not after what I said! Please she has friends that would kill us and take her back so this is just a waste! Give up!

Sorry, no can do. You know once orders are given you can't stop yourself from doing them. Actually, perhaps you don't know that, considering I exist.

They both fell silent as the street came into view. All the pieces were falling into place.
