No friends, nothing. I'm not the noticeable type. In fact, I don't like being noticed. I try to be someone from Abnegation from Divergent. Instead of going to the front of the classroom, unlike most girls, I go to the back, because then people aren't forced to look at you. Since I'm in the back, if people want to look at me they would have to turn compleatly around and then most likely they would get caught by the teacher. Yeah, I really don't like being noticed.
The teacher scribbled her name on the chalkboard in big boxy letters:
MRS. PALMER
She was dressed in boot-cut khakis with a purple sweater. Her long auburn hair was tied up in a top knot. And her shoes, they were red sparkly flats. They reminded me of The Wicked Witch of the West's shoes from The Wizard of Oz. She had a million bracelets on her arms, and had a piece of rope tied around her neck.
After I notice her I notice the stack of books on her desk. I read the names of the books: The Wizard of Oz,(no wonder) Heidi, Divergent, The Hunger Games, Insurgent, Catching Fire, Allegiant, Mockingjay, all of the Percy Jackson and the Olympains series. I automatically like her.
Mrs. Palmer takes attendance. She calls a whole bunch of names before mine starting with A for the last name. Finally:
"Jaylyn Lee?" I raise my hand quietly, careful not to make a big show of myself. And then, of course, everybody turns around. Darnit, I thought to myself, I failed Abnegation training.
