everybody knows the hughes brothers, but they often forget about jacks twin. Hi, im grace and im here to let you in on what its like living in jacks shadow and being in love with his best friend
I wake up to my alarm buzzing, groaning and turning over to try and make it stop. It was 850, which means I have around an hour to get ready. I quickly get out of bed, grabbing my workout clothes for today and quickly throwing on leggings, a sports bra, and matching jacket.

I then make my way to the bathroom to brush my teeth and put my hair into a french braid. I grab my gym bag and make my way to the kitchen filling up my water bottle and grabbing a quick granola bar. Alex and Jack walk downstairs doing the same thing before jack says "everyone ready" I simply nod still chewing and head to the car. My phone instantly hooks up to the blue tooth as I climb into the back.
"haha sweet got the aux without even needing the aux" I chuckle
jack murmurs a sarcastic "great" and we make the 10-minute drive to the rink.
I jump out of the car not wanting to meet any of his teammates right now and say, "ok have fun ill see you all later"
Alex and jack both say "see ya"
I spot my coaches inside talking to the hockey coaches. I walk over introducing myself to jack's coaches before I look at my coaches waiting to hear what we're doing today,
my skating coach, barb starts "we are gonna do 30 minutes of cardio on the ice and then a 35 minute run on the treadmill today" I simply nod and she continues
"But we have to share with the u17s and u18s so I trust you will be on your best behavior" I simply nod before going to get ready.
I walk into the gym and get ready to start running. Most of the u18s are in there getting ready to go to the ice, meaning I will be with the u17s in here, ugh I think. My coach plugs my phone into the speaker for music for the whole room. As I start warming up a bunch of the u18 boys who I know from Quinn and Brady fist bump me as they walk past.
I start my prerun routine with stretching, squats, and lunges with dumbells when Jack and his whole team walk in. I look their direction before quickly getting back to my workout after hearing my coach mutter a warning to me about staying on track.
I hear one of the boys mutter "Woah shes hot whos that"
before their coach begins "and that is miss Hughes, jack and Quinn's sister, who I'm sure you already know is an Olympic gold medalist in swimming and has made quite the impression for figure skating. you will be seeing a lot of her since she will be using this training facility too so please be on your best behaviors. she also has amazing music taste so she will control the music whenever shes in here or on the ice"
I simply smile at them before getting back to work, stepping on the treadmill and starting my run. As the boys begin their work with weights.
After what seemed like the longest 2 hours of my life, my workouts were finally over. I grabbed the keys out of my bag sending a quick text and jack, Quinn and Brady making a mental note to get Alex's number, knowing they would see it after practice
