Lucas' pov:

Mom had decided to take me and Claus to the park. We had nothing better to do that day and it was rather nice outside swell. When we were getting closer, I noticed group of other children playing baseball together. The one that caught my eye was a boy much shorter than the others. He had black hair that was being partially covered by a baseball cap.

Claus noticed me staring and started giggling. I quickly realized what he was thinking and quickly walked closer to mom. She looked down at me with a smile. "Aren't you going to go play Lucas?" She asked. I nodded my head slowly as Claus proceeded to drag me over the boy from earlier.

I could feel my heart beat quickly the closer we got. I didn't understand what was happening and quickly pulled my arm away from Claus and ran over to mom. I sighed as I looked up at mom. "I-I think I mi-might be sick." She looked at me and smiled. She checked my temperature and it turned out to be normal.

"Lucas you're fine. If you want to go home we can." She looked over at Claus and I turned to look at him as well. He was talking to the boy from earlier and pointed at me. The boy proceeded to look over at me which caused me to freeze up a little. Both him and Claus slowly made their way over to me which caused me to panic a little.

"This is my brother Lucas."

"Hi Lucas, nice to meet you! My name's Ness."

I looked over at him and felt my face start to burn up as I tried to smile and him while awkwardly waving.

~Time skip to two weeks later~

Me and Ness have been talking more recently.
We try to meet up at the park which sometimes doesn't work. Every time I was around him I felt my face heat up and I'd start to get nervous. Today would be different, or at least that's what I told myself.

I quickly ran over to mom and asked if we could go to the park today. She agreed and said it would be nice to go walk around in this weather.

Once we were at the park I looked around for Ness. I found him underneath the shade of a tree. He smiled and got up once he saw me. I noticed that he had his hands behind his back which made me a bit curious. "Hi Lucas! I got something for you?" He smiled as he showed me a small frog plushy.

I felt my face heat up a bit as I smiled at him. I quickly hugged the shorter boy as we laughed it off. "L-Lucas," he started as I looked down at him. "I think that I-I might have a crush on you." He quickly glanced down then back up at me. I smiled at him. "I think I might have a small crush on you too." We both giggled as we didn't really understand what we were talking about. We've heard other people say things like that before but never knew about it.

"What's a crush?"
