Maxs POV:
I finally arrived at Nyada and made my way to the front desk.
"Hello how may I help you?" the receptionist asked.
"Um hi I'm Max Brown, I'm here to see the head master, uh Mrs.Beaubrook."
"Ah yes, please right this way."
I followed her up to a spacey office and sat down. I waited for a few minutes a friendly looking women walked in.
"You must be Max Brown. Its nice to meet you I'm Mrs. Beaubrook, the head master." I stood up and shook her hand and then sat back down.
"Yes I am, and thank you for seeing me on such a short notice, I am very grateful."
"No please Max, I am more than happy to have a young, bright girl to be here."
"Thank you."
"Okay so lets get you into the audition room. Everyone will be watching." Well this was news to me. I didn't mind people watching me I had done tons of dance recitals before, this is no different, well maybe it is considering this audition is what will or wont let me get into Nyada. She walked me into the room, which was looked like a large circle. Mrs. Beaubrook took a seat with the rest of the students and I took a look around and I thought I saw someone familiar but I didn't think to much into it.
I looked at the head master and nodded. Soon my music started and the lights faded into a more sensual and dramatic facade. I took careful steps, and made sure I hit every jump, skip and leap. After I got into it, it was just me, the music and the dance. This is what I love about dancing, its about how you feel and what you want to put into your routines. I put all my emotions sad and happy, all my love and I even put Harry into it too. This is what I live for, to do this. Just dance. The song ended, which meant my dance was over. I finally came back to reality and saw that everyone in the room was standing and clapping for me, even the head master.
"Everyone this is Max Brown, the newest student at Nyada!"
Everyone clapped again, it was amazing. I looked into the audience and saw an all too familiar face. Harry. He was here and he watched me dance. Out of all people he attended this college. He looked up and our eyes met. He smiled. I looked away. If I kept looking I would cry, he just brought up my past, the past I came here to forget. Mrs. Beaubrook told me I was free to leave anytime and that I would start by shadowing a student who was in the dance/singing department. She told me she would get back to me tomorrow and left the room. Students came up to me to congratulate me and started to pile out of the room after.I gathered my things and saw that Harry was approaching me. I couldn't face him, not now, not when I just got some of the best news in my life. He wouldn't ruin it. He already ruined my life nine years ago to a poor, innocent girl. That is not happening again, I am no longer that girl and especially not after I just built up the walls he broke down. He was right next to me when I ran out the door and down the hall.
"MAX WAIT!" Harry yelled after me. I heard footsteps, continually getting louder. On the day that I should be celebrating and jumping for joy, I was pulled back into the past I had just recovered from. At this thought I felt a hand go around my forearm, tuning me around.
"Max." Harry said a bit breathless.
"Harry." I looked him in the eyes but quickly looked away. When I looked into his green eyes I remember us, as we used to be.
"What are you doing here?"
"I moved here with my sister."
"That's awesome."
"Yeah look I have to go."
"But-" I turned and took off and out the front doors, I turned around to see him starring at me but I kept going. Knowing if I stayed any longer I would have broke down and I have put way to much effort into building myself back up for that to happen. I ran all the way back to the apartment, i probably looked like a freak but who gives a shit. To say this was a surprise would be the understatement of the year. At least I knew that he was there, so I could prepare to face him tomorrow. I know Harry. He's persistent. He would talk to me if it was the last thing he did.
You could basically say I was screwed.
(Sorry this is so short)
