Tobin didn't understand. The best day of her life quickly turned into her worst.

If you've lost your way

She told Karima, she'd always be there. But she was the first to push her down when the kid hit a steep hill.

Now Tobin wasn't speaking to her wife. She couldn't even look at her in the face.
Not that Heath did much, resorting to staying in her bed and scrolling through the memories she had with Karima.

The door slammed. Tobin wasn't surprised. She didn't know much about what Christen was doing these days;both slept in separate rooms, eat a different times and never interacted.

Not since they heard of Karima's death.

Then Tobin's phone went off. Like every other call, she was going to decline it. Then she saw the number and thought otherwise.

"Hey Harry."

Tobin sighed.

"Hey Harry."

A: I guess bed rest hasn't helped you much
T: Just say it Allie
A: Fine...what's wrong with you?
T: I'm grieving Allie
A: It's been four months
T: I'm still grieving!
A: Not like this!

There was a lengthy pause from both sides.

T: I can't just get over this
A: I know Tobs, and the truth is...maybe you never will
T: Oh thanks
A: Look what I'm trying to say is that Karima would not want you to be going through this
T: No, she'd want me to be going through hell
A: TOBIN POWELL HEATH!

Tobin was on the verge of hanging up.

A: She'd want you...to be happy, move on in life. Your relationship with Christen? Karima helped you soo much with her and now you're going to throw that away

Tobin didn't want to let her best friend know that she'd won, so she gave an almost signature sigh.

T: Alright...I'll think on it
A: Thank me later Harry!

With that the line ended.

Tobin opened the door. She thought about going outside.

The kitchen was bright, the sun illuminating everything in its way.
Tobin had to rub her eyes several times.

When Christen opened the door upon arriving home, had to rub her own eyes several times, among seeing her wife in front of her.

Tobin gave a sheepish grin. "Could we...start over?"

I will leave the light on
'Cause I will leave a light on
