As Joe drove me home from the hospital, we sat in silence in her rickety old creeper van.
"So, how's the new nose job feeling, girly?" Joe asked in a casual tone like it was no big deal
"Oh, it just feels magnificent! How about you just shove it.....girly." Oh no, what did I just say? Did that really just come out of my mouth?! Oh God! I'm surly dead now.
I glanced to the side and to my surprise, Jo was smirking! She was freaking smirking!!! I didn't know what to do, so I averted my gaze away from
"Nice Nerdianna, I love the sass! That sass is the first step to becoming a badass just like me." She said excitedly.
"Wait, what? That's what you're trying to do?! I don't wanna be a bad..... whatever! I just don't wanna be one, ok. Alicia is my friend, not you!"
I didn't even care that we were stopped at a red light. I grabbed my one of a kind Doctor Who purse and jumped out of the car. I heard Jo yell for me to get back in as I walked briskly to the side walk. The chilly night air made my freshly done stitches burn and itch, not a good combination. I walked 20 minutes to get home and when I walked in, my mother's mouth dropped open so wide, that I thought her jaw might detach like a snake.
"What in the hell happened to your face?! What did you do? What happened? I mean, what sorry of - what kind of - w-w-what...."
"Mom! Chill, I'm fine." I say in a low, irritated growl. "Nothing happened, I, uh, got in a fight at school."
My mom starred at me with eyes the size if dinner plates. I have officially rendered my own mother speechless.
"Well then I'll call the school and get this girl arrested! Alright honey?" My mom finally uttered out in the most sincere tone she could muster.
"No Mom! I took care of it, please don't call anyone, Mom." I yelled out. I ran upstairs immediately regretting being so harsh to my mom, she didn't do anything wrong. I began to wonder what Jo will say tomorrow after what has happened between us tonight.
