Liam’s POV
“Have you even tried talking to him about it Liam? I bet he’s upset you didn’t mention it earlier. You know how Niall gets.” Zayn said seriously as we sat down at the bar.
“No I haven’t and it’s really not any of your business Zayn so just drop it ok?!” I snapped harshly.
“No I will not drop it Liam! Niall is my friend even if you don’t agree with it. I know it must have been awkward but he still deserved to know before now. He is your ex-husband after all.” He sighed ordering two beers for us.
“Yes I know. Don’t remind me about it.” I groaned.
“Why do you hate him so much Liam? What has he done?” He asked.
“Uh he cheated on me.” I said seriously.
“Like years ago Liam. Why haven’t you moved on from that yet? Yes he made a pretty big mistake, but he tried as hard as he could to make it up to you and you still didn’t forgive him. It’s like you never wanted it to work even before he cheated.” Zayn rambled.
“You don’t get it Zayn. You don’t understand.” I sighed loudly.
“You don’t think Perrie and I have had our differences and arguments? Of course we have, but we always try our best to make things work and we did. I love her more than anything and I know you still love Niall. You can’t stop loving someone like that.” I was taken aback. I don’t still love Niall. We broke up years ago, why would I still have feelings for him?
“I-I have no idea what you’re talking about Zayn. I love Troy, why do you think I’m going to propose to him?!” I said loudly.
“You think you love him Liam, and maybe you do. But you can’t tell me that you don’t have feelings for Niall. You always will.”
“You can’t tell me what I feel Zayn! You have no idea what I’m feeling for Niall! We’re not together anymore and that clearly states that I do not love him anymore!” I yelled, making half the bar turn around to look at us.
“Fine, ok. I’m sorry.” Zayn sighed. “Just please at least try and talk to him about it. He’s hurting.” He said seriously. I nodded and looked down at the now very interesting, bar mat. I know Niall must be upset about me asking Troy to marry me, and I do get why, but at the same time it doesn’t really have anything to do with him. We aren’t together anymore. He should move on, like I have.
Later that night I found myself knocking on the door of his little flat, slightly drunk I may admit. The kids were all staying with mum so now’s the perfect time to talk to him. After knocking I waited a bit before the door opened. Niall’s eyes widened a bit before he spoke.
“Liam. What are you doing here? Are the kids ok?” He asked quickly.
