Greed

27 4 3

A lost human makes his way to the grand forest

Hoping to find the cure to this sadness

At the top of the tree he finds it

What he was looking for

What he didn't know he was looking for

When he goes to snatch it away, he sees he is too late

A crimson demon

Crimson blood

These fill his sight as she gives her life to him

He roars at the demon

The devil who took it all away

The devil that fills his mind

Crimson is all she sees

The hole in her chest

The hole in her heart

The eyes of the man who filled it

"Ban, say it again, please."

His sobs fill her ears

"Dammit, Elaine. At least let me finish."

As her life slips away, he loses it all again

His wish fulfilled,

But his love gone

Greed has taken it all away

Author's note

This is a very vertical poem. I apologize for the low-quality. It was hard to write one for Ban.
