Harry walked into his office on Friday and like any other day for the past week, he found Niall already there.
And as soon as Niall saw Harry, he smiled at him. That smile that Harry hated more than anything.
Because it was a cocky, bitchy smile and Harry didn't want anything to do with it. He would much rather Niall show him a stoic face.
He would take a stoic face, a glare even, any day, over that overly sweet smile that Niall gave him just to spite him.
"Good morning, Harry." Niall greeted cheerfully and Harry internally groaned at how someone could be so energetic that early.
"Morning, Niall. I would tell you to call me Mr. Styles but you won't even take it to notice so I'll let it go. Just this once, though." Harry said and sent a small glare to Niall. "Now get my coffee." He demanded.
Niall was sat at his desk inside Harry's office as he arranged Harry's schedule.
"Coffee? I have your coffee right here." Niall said and grabbed the cup of coffee that he'd picked up on his way up, a few minutes ago which had been scalding hot but now it was just as Harry liked it.
He gave it to Harry who was stood by the large windows next to Niall's desk.
He had one hand in his pocket and the other was holding the cup that Niall had just given him.
"I have scones here if you like them. I skipped breakfast so I opted on carrying food instead." Niall offered as he too took a sip from his own coffee.
Harry turned his gaze from the window and looked at Niall with a raised eyebrow.
"You are offering me your food?" He asked in disbelief. Because in the week that he'd been with Niall as his assistant, he had learned that Niall loved his food and he hated sharing.
"Yes. Now don't look at me like that." Niall said and opened the brown paper bag, offering it to Harry who took one.
"Mmmm these are so good." Harry moaned after taking a bite and Niall grinned proudly.
"Thanks. Made them meself this morning." Niall answered and it was silent as they both ate.
Harry didn't like Niall because the brunnet was too high up on his horse for a personal assistant. But at the same time, he knew how to get his job done. Which angered Harry because he was hoping the lad would soon mess up and he would have the board fire him but that didn't seem like it would happen soon... or ever. Niall was an excellent worker.
So Harry hated him.
Niall too hated Harry because he had no consideration for others especially his workers. So he was the CEO, big deal. Someone had to put his arrogant and temperamental arse in place and Niall was more than willing to.
He hated Harry's guts, he really did.
But despite their hatred for each other, Niall and Harry had a thing in common. They both loved to work, hard.
And so that got them going most of the times. Sometimes, Harry would stay at the office late and Niall wouldn't really mind as long as he too had work to do.
When they were both working, they acted civil to each other. But once they were done with the day's work, they were both at each other's necks.
Harry bossing Niall around and being rude and Niall putting him in his place by retorting.
They'd never said a proper goodbye after work as they headed to their cars, it was always calling each other names.
But they made it a week far like that. It was a norm to them.
