Dylan Edwards is the 17 year old straight-A grade bad boy of Amaryliss Residing School who makes girls swoon with his brains and brauns, but he pays no attention to them.

Belonging from a mega-rich and immensely respected family of corporate lawyers, Dylan is like the outcast in his seemingly-perfect family because he has absolutely no interest in joining the family firm, Edwards & Co. Law Firm. Instead, he wants to make music, something looked down in his family. He never participates in dinner conversations as they are always about the recent case of a murder or how the convict was wrongly tried.

Dylan's parents were never there for him since childhood. He was practically brought up by his nanny and house staff. Since a young age, his parents tried to make him develop an interest in law. Almost every dinner table conversation at the Edwards house revolved around the court room, but Dylan would always find himself drawn to the piano kept in the attic, a very prized possession given to him by his grandfather.

Dylan has two older brothers, Richard and William, and one younger sister, Alana. Rich and Will are both top-shot lawyers married to successful advocates, Kiera and Tara respectively. They love Dylan but would never go against their families to support their brother's love for music. Alana, however, is a fierce defender of her brother and openly voices her opinion at the mere age of 14. She too goes to Amaryliss High and is the badass chick who is friends with Andrea and Aaliyah.

Dylan started writing music at the age of 12, and has not stopped since then. He wrote about everything- his loneliness, his first heartbreak, and what made him shut out the world. He only really talks to his two best friends- James Thirlwall and Tyler Lint. James is the school player with a bad reputation and worse grades but a good heart. Tyler is the normal guy out of the trio with average grades and girls. They have an unlikely but true friendship which began over their undying love for football in 3rd grade.

Despite his family critisizing his every choice and opinion and pressurizing him into joining the family firm, Dylan's love for music grew till it became his sole ambition in life. He is ready to give up everything but his family whom he can't let down. No matter what they do, Dylan still feels immensely proud when his father pumps out his chest and tell everyone how his son would be going to Oxford for law or when his mother happily gushes about her son's achievements at one of her book clubs.

Decisions are something which Dylan has grown to hate, but as he navigates through the last year of his school life, he must make his choices, and must learn to live with them. Will he put aside his love for music for his family or will he follow the laws of rebellion?
