The Journey

As the sun raised Starla turned over in her bed staring out of the window taking it all in and how last night was a lot to take in, she had the whole block trembling like an earthquake as her full powers came in " Starla, breakfast is ready" she gathered her clothes and her suitcase and went downstairs " dad you didn't have to do this" yes I did this will be your last time for awhile having your dad famous blueberry pancakes. As she finished her breakfast there was a knock on the door her father went to answer it, there stood a tall 6ft dark-skinned guy with long locks dyed blue and green his eyes are blue like the ocean his lips are filled his physique is perfect and standing next to him is a female with tanned skin and glistening her eyes are black with a speck of red in them her hair flowing beside her waist and is also read " Hello, I'm Ava and this is Jordan we're here for Starla" she smiled. I thought to myself she was like the fire she was beautiful she had a dragon tattoo around her wrist and the head was at her shoulder breathing fire on her neck, " I'm a blood bender " she spoke interrupting my thoughts, a blood bender? Yes, right shocking but cool as hell see I can control someone's body movement with their blood like water kinda badass isn't it? She flashed a wicked smile then I noticed Jordan watching me in the mirror I just blushed and sat back while Ava continues to talk not listening mine was wandering off just thinking about my father hoping he be safe I'm going to miss him.

We pull over to a pit stop, I get out of the car to stretch my body feel so stiff sitting in the car for 6 hours, I'm so relieved to get out and get some fresh air. I'm going to go inside and get something from the vending machine " I turned around and said to the both of them" Jordan just nodded and looked away while leaning against the car " I'm coming with you I'm dying of thirst " says Ava. As we walk into the building I noticed two women in the corner who were twins stopped talking and watched my every move something was off, I quickly grabbed my snacks and walked toward the door and Ava was behind me but her whole demeanor has changed. Boom! A loud noise erupted the twins blew the doors off the building and eye's turned pitched black " we want the girl only to stand out of our way" Jordan was now in front of me " you want her you have to get through us" he growled, I quickly ran to the car and dug the book my mother gave me I just knew it was a spell in here I can use I don't want them to fight alone, as I look through the book I hear Ava yell out as she hit the ground as one twin is focused on Jordan. " Starla, did you find something they have old dark magic hurry up!" I find a spell and quickly run out " let them be now! " or what " they respond in synced?" Or I'll burn you both, they laugh and grinned at each other and walked towards me " burn us you don't even know how to use your powers plus we don't want to hurt you just come with us or else we will" they stand side by side in the middle of the parking lot with a black glow around them " okay Starla you can do this, you got this focus here goes nothing" I said to myself as I closed my eyes and chanted the words.

"burn inside and out bleed thy blood burn, bones twist and bend break thee break thee and burn" I chanted louder as I opened my eyes and stare them down, they start to fall to their knees screaming out in agony skin blistering like boiling water was poured on them. I get closer and kneel grabbing their heads together repeating the words as they whisper " please" finally I put my hands over their hearts and whisper " burn" and the next thing I saw was blue and red fire surrounding their bodies lighting them up in flames as if it were the flames of hell ascending and I watched their bodies melt and decay into nothing but a pile of ashes.

Ava ran over to me as I fell to the ground " I feel so weak, I didn't know I could do that" I managed to speak although it was as if I was gasping for air with every word that I spoke. Yeah you are going to be pretty weak you used a lot of powerful magic, magic that you haven't practice and learned how to control it but that's why I and Jordan are here to help you. I found myself looking around for him but I couldn't find him I was wondering if he's okay " don't worry Starla he is fine he's just checking the rest of the area making sure we won't have any more unexpected visits" I lean myself forward trying to stand up as Ava helped I can feel some of the strength returning but still pretty weak " come on we need to get you to the Inn up the road so you can rest, also I have to admit that was fucking amazing like the damn girl I wasn't expecting you to light the little bitches up like that " she laughed, Jordan appeared out of nowhere with a concerning look on his face " Hey are you okay" I'm alive so I guess I'm okay " I meant that as in how are you feeling, you seem pretty weak " oh that is all you noticed " I rolled my eyes and walked past him " he's so ugh but I can't help to find him so attractive he's mysterious and try to be cold and closed off but I can see past that, I can sense his energy and see his aura I can tell he's been hurt and lost a lot of people that mean the most to him and probably doesn't want to get attached to anyone only to one day lose them, ugh I don't even know why I am thinking about him, I need to stop plus mother said I should keep my focus on my magic but that doesn't mean I can't form a bond with him and Ava of course. I'll be lying if I said I didn't want to mainly get to know him more no one has ever caught my interest like this before well besides Joey Adams and that was eighth grade my very first crush. And he decided to pick the mean girl over me Ashley Simmons , I never knew why she disliked me so much especially when we were best friends since elementary school then one day she just started hating me out of nowhere , I was so confused even more confused the day she left town and I found a note left in my locker that read " sorry" just that nothing more but sorry. I was deep into my thoughts and then his voice interrupted me " seems like you have something on your mind , you know Starla you shouldn't overthink on too much especially when you can just ask"  I looked up and met his eyes he just gazing at me with a smirk on his face through the rearview mirror , did he just read my thoughts what in the entire fuck .
