☆彡jimin just stands there, frozen. he hasn't moved in so long that hoseok gets genuinely worried that he's having some sort of stationary panic attack. maybe he shouldn't have said what he said?
"jimin? you're not saying anything." hoseok states, jimin blinks at him, very confused.
"i...i'm confused. i already told you i liked you, why are we still talking?" jimin says with his tone as passive aggressive as ever. hoseok frowns because the blonde he seems so sure the older wouldn't want anything to do with him.
"i want to take you on a date. that's why i asked you out. not to figure out if you liked me or why you liked me, but to take you on a date." hoseok affirms, it has jimin widening his eyes- an action hoseok finds really cute, but again, irrelevant- and then he squints his eyes at him.
"why?"
"um- because i like you." jimin isn't that phased to be honest. he's realized the possibility of hoseok returning his feeling weren't that slim. it was simple math, they'd known each other long enough, worked with each other long enough.
it would be surprising if hoseok didn't have some feelings what with how many romantic scenes they'd played together. hoseok shyly looks away. jimin finds it cute how the rolls are reversed for once, hoseok's the one embarrassed and he's the one enjoying it.
"okay. where to?" jimin finally says, he seems collected on the outside but he just hopes hoseok doesn't notice how his cheeks are deepening in red, or his eyes are glowing, or how he feels fluttery with the butterflies swarming his stomach and his heart about to beat out of his chest.
bullshit. it's all bullshit. jimin doesn't know jack shit about math. sure, maybe he would fantasize about hoseok returning his feelings and them getting married off in the sunset like one of their plays, but that was all it was: a fantasy. he's never thought of hoseok actually liking him, not with the way jimin treated him.
but then hoseok intertwines their fingers and starts walking, it does feel like one of their plays...except it's not acting.
they seem to be walking for a little till hoseok abruptly stops at a large building. jimin glazes over at it, it's a matcha green with gold rimmed windows and metal flower prints on the window, the words 'classical art gallery' placed on top the building. jimin gasps.
"i love art galleries!" he squeaks, only regrets it a second later when he realizes he lost his cool; maybe screamed too loudly as passerby were giving him strange looks. hoseok just smiles at him and unsurprisingly, jimin blushes at that.
"shall we?" he smiles.
"we shall!"
they both giggle their way into the building and jimin is so excited as they view the first artwork, he's seen this one before, somewhere in the internet it's by some guy named edouard bisson, jimin remembers from when he and tae were going through an old art book. the art was beautiful, it featured two women and an angel; jimin supposes it's the messenger.
"wow." hoseok awes. jimin just smiles at him, then looks back at the painting. their hands are still intertwined, palms fit together like puzzles.
"i know." jimin replies softly. after a few more seconds staring at the artwork, they move onto the others. they both have a good time, occasionally make fun of how much boobs they see throughout their time in the museum. classicists liked painting naked people a lot.
in the time they spend in the dark hall, jimin learns some things about hoseok. for starters, for some reason he absolutely hates snakes, he has a dog named mickey- jimin finds the name adorable-and how he was drawn to things with bright, vibrant colors. hoseok also learns some things about jimin, like his love for contemporary dance, and the way he tugs at his sweater paws when he's nervous or embarrassed.
sometime in the conversation hoseok tells a joke that has jimin giggling madly, it's the most endearing sound, absolutely mellifluous.so beautiful hoseok compares jimin to all the artworks they've observed and realizes...jimin is the loveliest piece of art in the room.
it's the next day and hoseok is in his dressing room. earlier he saw jimin and for the first time they didn't snark, or mock, or glare at each other, instead they just smiled shyly and waved- actions that left their friends shocked no doubt. and now hoseok is a little nervous to rehearse the play again.
"get your ass out of there, hoseok. my wrist is cramping and i'm in a shitty mood. lets get this over with." comes the irritated voice of chungha, their other professor/director. hoseok hurries out of the dressing rooms and makes his way to the stage, there he finds jimin in his position, looking over his script. hoseok knows he doesn't need to. jimin can probably recite the whole script backwards if he wanted to. always the perfectionist...cute.
"ahem." he makes his presence known and everyone gets into their positions, jimin and hoseok left on the stage, the rest of the class is waiting for an argument to stir up, about how jimin's sweater is the same color as poop, or how hoseok sucks at crying, or something unbelievably childish for them to bicker about- but it never comes.
"director chungha? are we going to start or...?" jimin asks because they've been ready for about 3 minutes and she still hadn't yelled 'action' yet. chungha snaps out of her thoughts and stares at the two, confused.
"it's just that you guys haven't argued once, and we've been here for," she glances at her rolex, "28 minutes and 17 seconds already. i feel like i'm' in some type of parallel universe." she observes them for a second, watches as hoseok winks at jimin, and the latter blushes. it really does feel like she is in a parallel universe. the corners of her lips cant help but elevate as she yells,
"action!"
lovely: love·ly exquisitely beautiful.
