It was today, it had to be today.

Jimin walked out of his dressing room, finally feeling normal after this crazy week, he's ready to start rehearsals, ready to give it his all because quite frankly he was a little irritated with himself and how he couldn't seem to get past the scene. He blushes a thought of kissing hoseok, it would be the first time they're doing this although they've been acting lead rolls for over three years, one of them was usually the antagonist so physical acts of romance weren't really common, much less kissing.

He takes a swig of his water and fans his face with his small palm to clear off his flusterness. He walks to the stage with most of the team ready, just a few quirks here and there and they would be done, just a few quirks here and there and director chungha would yell action. now they're just waiting for hoseok.

speak of the devil, he walks out the dressing rooms with his hair looking tousled, he has a pink flush to his cheeks and he looks...charming. jimin has to look away for a few seconds simply because hoseok in silk is something jimin never thought he'd have to prepare himself for.

they both get in their positions and chungha yells action. the scene begins and jimin can feel his insides tingling with excitement although on the outside he has a pout on his face, the scene wasn't a particularly effervescent one.

"w-we can't! it's not normal, elias... we can't." comes the voice of hoseok, it breaks mid sentence, jimin is almost jealous of how easily he's able to look and sound broken. he thinks, maybe the reason he likes the older so much is because he secretly admires his acting, his determination. jimin feels his cheeks bloom, but professionalism, jimin. professionalism.

hoseok starts crying and jimin, also sobbing now, only steps closer to him. he's supposed to place his palm on his chest but he places it on his cheek instead. he uses his other palm to wipe off his own tears.

"ethan, do you love me?" jimin whispers, completely immersed in character a last tear escapes hoseok's eye. jimin smiles as hoseok nods, grabbing jimin's cheeks with both his palms. they stare at each other for what feels like eternity till hoseok let's out,

"i do. you know i do." he smiles sadly. jimin gasps as hoseok grabs him by the waist, it's gentle, but abrupt. both their cheeks are blooming and all jimin can see, all he can feel is hoseok. he mentally preps himself for the next act...jimin isn't usually one to be nervous when acting but he can't help but.

"cut!"

they both jump at the loud noise, hoseok turns to their director, looking almost...annoyed with her. chungha notices the looks of confusion scattered across the room, seokjin yells a 'what the fuck' at her, but all she does is roll her eyes.

"you guys won't be kissing till the live performance on friday." she says curtly, jimin turns to her, his heart is beating out of control, the rush from almost kissing hoseok not seeming to subdue.

"what? why not."

"when you guys kiss, it needs to be magical...i want you to move the whole audience with this scene, especially the kiss. and to that it needs to be the first time during the live performance." she reasons, jimin keeps quiet. what she said did make sense, it's probably for the best....

they're on stage, the supporting dancers are basically flying around the two of them, jimin and hoseo. it was finally here, jimin's dressed in pink silk garnets, his hair has glitter in it, his lips are glossed and his cheeks are pinked. he's beautiful, hoseok thinks.

jimin watches hoseok gently, he's crying, sobbing, but still he looks as delicate, as exquisite as ever. he's known since forever that hoseoks always the most beautiful when in character, with eyes glimmering with passion. the big theatre is quiet, the audience paying attention to every intricate detail on the stage, including the two actors in the center of it.

jimin feels himself being lifted, courtesy of the thin ropes that were adjusted to him backstage before the performance. hoseok is being lifted up too as he wraps his hands around jimin's small waist. it's the kissing scene.

then it comes. jimin feels the brush of their nose at first, then he comes in contact with something softer, it's hoseok's lips against his own. it's slow, it's gentle and it's the most- no, the way it feels is ineffable. he feels like he's drowning in hoseok, the way their lips sync...it's indescribable.

when they finally pull apart, the audience roars with applause, left to right. the two main actors, the rest of the dancers, and the supporting cast all bow down as the audience throws flowers to the stage. hoseok turns to jimin and the blonde practically jumps into his arms.

they both feel so exhilarated, the overpowering feeling of euphoria causing them to have stupidly wide grins on their faces. when they pull away from the hug, they stare at each other for a while, hoseok hoops his jimin's nose, the action causes jimin to giggle.

when he stops giggling hoseok takes out a rose from the bouquet he caught from the audience. jimin scrunches his nose, a little confused from the action for the first four seconds, before hoseok places the flower in his hair.

he feels his cheeks go warm and can already tell they're hued sanguine. everwhere is loud with cheers and applaud but all jimin can focus on is the way hoseok looks at him like he's the most precious thing in the world. he strokes his cheek.

"it's delicate, beautiful...just like you, jimin." hoseok says this with so much sincerity, jimin can tell because he's an actor, he knows when people are faking it. but this- this was genuine. jimin feels a tear trail down his cheek as he smiles.

hoseok pulls in for a kiss and jimin returns it in a heartbeat. it's right then, in that moment they both realize; the feeling it's ineffably sweet.

the audience roars one more time. then the red curtains fall down, with jimin and hoseok still in each other's arms.
