Winty's POV
I wake up early and get ready for fieldtrip. I do the same morning routine I always did. I'm dressed up in the required uniform I have to wear. Dark blue knee-lengthed dresses with wide straps and it's sleeveless, yellow bows near the collar of my dress and shiny, black boots and it's height should be up to the middle of our legs.
I pack my stuff with my new, big travel bag, which is decorated in shades of dark blue. It's now packed up with extra clothes, ny sketchbook where I always draw memories and souvenirs about me and Wyatt, my sharpened pencil, snacks, my water bottle, my pajamas, my sleeping equipment — just in case the contest will last more than one day — and everything I need. I'm still wearing the moonstone necklace, so that wherever I am, it will remind me of my real mother.
When I'm done packing, I head downstairs to the ground level of my school. There, I see everyone else wearing the exact same uniforms and they're all ready and prepared. As soon as Diana spots me, she runs to hug me causing me to let go of my travel bag. I hesitate at first, but after a few seconds, I hug her back. She's my best friend after all. After a while, we pull away. She seems to notice my new travel bag.
"Oh, I like you're bag", she said,"It's so cool".
"Thanks, Diana", I said getting a hold onto my bag as I notice hers, which is the same type of bag as mine, but the colors are a rainbow,"Yours too. It's really colorful".
"Thank you", she said, smiling.
"You're warmly welcome", I reply.
"Are you ready for your fieldtrip?", she asked me.
"Ready as I'll ever be", I answered and we both smile and laugh a bit.
Suddenly, we hear the horn beeping. It's coming from the bus. It's time for our fiedtrip to begin! We all go inside the bus and find the most comfortable seats. I sit by the window in the middle-right of the bus with Diana sitting beside me. We were chattering about the fieldtrip when I heard Principal Bella — she's in the front-right corner of the bus with my stepmother sitting beside her — saying through the megaphone,"Are you ready for your fieldtrip?!".
"Yes, Principal Bella!", we all answered.
"Great!", she exclaimed as she turns to the bus driver,"Now, all aboard!".
And we take off in the bus. I'm looking at the view and see that we're traveling through the forest. I hear one of us singing:
Every time we travel to a faraway place,
We sing our songs
Every time we sing our songs,
It brings music to our ears
And when it brings music to our ears,
That's what you call an entertainmentI turned to see my stepmother, who's singing that verse. I guess this is my first time hearing her sing. I hear a few others — especially those in front — snapping their fingers as they continue the song:
Oooooooooohhhhhhhhhh..........
This is how we do it
When we don't know what to do
Every time we do this,
It's called entertainmentI then, hear everyone else singing the chorus:
Put your hands up in the air!
As we travel to a place
Put your hands up in the air!
So you can have so much fun
Put your hands up in the air!
As our friendship grows brighter
Put your hands up in the air!
So it will be excitingEvery time we sing our songs, we put our hands up in the air!
As I hear the chorus, I feel myself listening to the beat and I wish to get along with it, so I start continuing the song for them. For all of us:
Every time we go for a trip,
We sing our songs
Every time we sing our songs,
We let the music flow around us
Every time we let the music flow around us,
That's what you call an entertainmentI hear those in front singing along with me. I decided to snap my fingers along with them:
Oooooooooohhhhhhhhhh..........
This is how we do it
When we don't know what to do
Every time we do this,
It's called entertainmentAll of us are singing in the bus (A/N: The italics represent the ensemble. The underlined ones represent Winty's part while all formatted represent both parts — the ensemble and Winty's part)
Put your hands up in the air!
As we travel to a place
Put your hands up in the air!
So you can have so much fun
Put your hands up in the air!
As our friendship grows brighter
Put your hands up in the air!
So it will be excitingEvery time we sing our songs, we put our hands up in the air!
Put your hands up in the air!
(Oh-woah-woah-woah-oh!)
As we travel to a place
(Put your hands in the air, oh)
Put your hands up in the air!
So you can have so much fun
(You can have some fun!)
Put your hands up in the air!
As our friendship grows brighter
(Oh, brighter!)
Put your hands up in the air!
So it will be exciting
(This will be exciting!)Every time we sing our songs, we put our hands up in the air!
Every time we sing our songs, we put our hands up in the air!
As the song ends, we all cheer in excitement — except the bus driver because she's focusing on the road — and they even cheer for me.
"That was amazing, Winty!", exclaims Diana.
"You rock, Winty!", exclaims Misty.
"Cool girl", exclaimed Maddie.
"Nice one", exclaimed Kayla.
"Girls rule!", some of them exclaimed.
"Thanks, everyone", I said smiling at them.
"You're welcome", replied everyone else as we all laughed.
We, then hear the bus driver saying,"We're almost there in the competition".
We all squeal and cheer in excitement as I look through the window wondering where the competition is held. Then, I see something that looks like the campout. It must be the contest, I think as we head for the parking space near the campout.
