Chapter 9: The Singing Battle ("Who's Gonna Win the Title?")

Winty's POV

We wake up the next morning and it's time for us to have the singing battle against the Boy Band. Believe me or not, I distrust them especially the leader, who's having a crush on me. Ugh! Seriously?! How can this happen?! He should not be the one for me!

Anyways, Diana and I head in front of the stage together with the girls and the Boy Band. Kevin steps up onstage to give us a good morning.

"Good morning to the contestants of the 15th Annual Performance Battle!", he said slightly more than a fun expression.

We cheered good morning to him.

"Are you ready for the singing battle?!", he asked still in a fun expression.

We cheered in agreement.

"Okay, okay", he said,"Two groups should turn around and face each other because we are about to have the singing battle".

We turn to face the Boy Band, me mouthing in a competitive expression, You're going down.

"The Singing Battle will start in 10... 9... 8...", he said counting the as we huddle around to make a quick recap about what we're going to sing in the battle,"7... 6... 5...".

"Are you ready for this?", Raila asked us.

"Yup, we're ready", we all answered as we turn back to the Boy Band.

Kevin continues the countdown,"4... 3... 2... 1... BATTLE!".

As he said this, the music starts. Just as we're about to start, the Boy Band cuts us in:

I swear we're strong and tough
Tough enough to win another title
Believe us or not, we have the richest school in the world
So give us good luck or you'll be broken to dust

It's our turn to sing:

Let's all just be wise
Ask yourself,"Are you sure you're going to win this thing?"
Believe us or not, we are prepared for anything
So with us united together, we'll have our first win

We all vocalize as the climax of this song begins:

Who's gonna win the title? I guess we're gonna find out

I quickly come up with the next verse mostly encouraging all of us - the girls - to stand against our opponents:

This situation is difficult
If you don't have what it takes
So let's prepare for anything

I turn to the Boy Band singing:

And move over, boys because girls rule!

The leader of the Boy Band seems to fight me back, but I stay tough.

Well, ya sure about this?
'Cause we're more athletic than you
So we do have what it takes
And nothing can stop us

The climax is back again as we're determined to fight back against the Boy Band:

Here comes the moment of truth. Who can stop us now? We take turns to sing and ask who has the ability to go against us?

We then, sing the climax one last time to let the judges and Kevin determine the winner of the first round:

Who's gonna win the title? I guess we're gonna find out

Then, the singing battle ends as Kevin applauds for it.

"Unbelievable guys", he said,"Really unbelievable. Now, the result will be calculated after the contest, so get ready for the dance battle after lunch".

We then, start practicing and preparing for the next round until lunch time. What's gonna happen if we haven't?
