I woke up to knocking on my door.

"It's open come in!" I yelled half asleep. My mom walked in. I buried myself into the blankets. I'm not ready to get up.

"Ashley. You have two hours till your boyfriend gets here. I finally get to meet him! I'm so excited. You've been together for 8 months and I'm just now getting to meet him. I'm so excited Ash!" She said happily. I'm so glad she's excited. Wait. She said two hours? Shit I need to get up. I got out of my blankets.

"Mom. You said two hours? It's already 10? I gotta get ready!" I said. She laughed.

"Well, if you need anything let me know. I'll be getting lunch ready. I just wanted to make sure you were up. Are you excited for me to meet him?" She asked before getting up. I smiled.

"Mom of course I'm ready for you two to meet. I really like him mom. I don't know if it's too early or whatever but I love him mom. I want the two people I love most to meet. He's really nervous though. You're gonna love him mom. He's such a great guy." I said. She smiled and got up.

"I already love him. He's making my daughter happy. Just like I love your brothers boyfriend. He makes my son happy. I just wish they'd come visit soon." She said. My brother is gay and when he was 16 he and his boyfriend ran away because my dad was homophobic. Mom didn't care. Mom loves and supports him no matter what. Dad died a year later. I don't even know if my brother knows.

"I miss him mom." I said. She hugged me.

"I miss him too baby. But hey. I gotta get the food ready and you gotta get dressed and ready. I love you Ashley. I can't wait to meet him!" She said and walked out. I went to do my hair and makeup and then I got dressed. Parker's coming over for lunch and to meet my mom. He's really nervous she won't like him. My mom loves him already. He's just scared. I'm meeting him out front when he gets here so we can walk in together.

Parker: Good morning beautiful. Today's the day. I'm so scared.

Me: babe she already loves you. It's going to be okay.

Parker: are you sure? What if she thinks she loves me and then she'll meet me and then she'll hate me and tell us we can't see each other anymore? I can't lose  you Ash. I can't. I. You're the best thing that's happened to me.

Me: that definitely won't happen. She knows how much I like you. She know how much you make me happy. She'd never do that. She already loves you. Just be you.

Parker: maybe. I'm scared. I've never been the nervous. Never. Anyway, I'm gonna start heading over there in a minute.

Me: why so early? You have another 30 minutes.

Parker: I'm walking and I don't wanna be late.

Me: your moms not bringing you over?

Parker: nah. She's with her boyfriend. But don't worry about me Ash. I'll see you soon babe. I can't wait.

Me: okay. I'm just gonna make sure my mom doesn't need help and the then I'll be outside waiting.

Parker: I can't wait to see you. I'm heading over.

Me: okay. Be safe.

I put my phone in my pocket and went to see my mom.

"Hey mom. Do you need any help in here?" I asked. She smiled as she grabbed plates and silverware.

"No I don't think so. I'm just gonna set the table really fast and I'll be ready." She said. I smiled.

"It smells so good. I really hope this turns out great. Mom. I love you so much. Thanks for Doing this. I really appreciate it. Parker is on his way. If you don't need anything in here, I'm gonna go wait for him outside." I said. She smiled.
