"Would you hurry up in there mother? I have to get dressed also you know." Anna called into Lorna's dressing room where her mother was putting on one of Lorna's most expensive evening gowns. Lorna was trying to help her get it on. "Alonna hun, I just don't think this one is gonna fit." Lorna said delicately. "Sure it will. I just gotta get my shoulders in to it." Alonna snapped. "You can't even get it up over your butt and you think your shoulders are the problem? Your going to rip it long before you ever get it to your shoulders." Lorna scolded. "Well if these fasteners on back went on down a bit it wouldn't be so tight. Wheres the seamstress? Can she not modify this thing to go on me?" Alonna asked. "Absolutely not. You are only borrowing my dress for the evening not keeping it." Lorna replied. There was obviously an offended tone in her voice. "Fine." Alonna said taking the dress off. "You'll just have to fetch me something else. Something accommodating to a woman of my structure." Alonna said snootily as she thrust her hand out to give the discarded dress to Lorna. "I'll see what I can find." Lorna said grudgingly. She took the dress and went back into the clothing room where Anna waited. The look of frustration and anger on her face was unmistakable. Anna looked at her and got a somewhat embarrassed look on her face. "I know mother can be quite difficult." She said soothingly. "I will never understand how it is possible that you came from that banshee of a woman. A harpy would run from her." Lorna ranted quietly. Anna snickered a moment at the visual of a harpy fluttering its wings and running away from her mother. "If I might be of service. Hand her this and tell her its perfect for her." Anna said handing her the dress Alonna had

worn to the castle. "But this is" Anna quickly place a finger over Lorna's mouth to stop her from speaking. "I know full well what dress that is & I also know my mother. That was bought ten minutes before she came to my house this morning & she probably changed in to it on the way to my home. So the chances of her recognizing it... I'd say vary somewhere between not a chance to... Lets be fair and just say none." Anna said in a hushed voice very quickly. "Your sure?" Lorna asked skeptically. "Oh just give it here." Anna said taking the dress from Lorna's hands. She then quickly grabbed a hanger put the dress on it and went in to the dressing room.
"Mother, Look at this one. Isn't it beautiful. Lorna said it might fit me but I don't think I have the right curves to fill it out properly. What do you think?" Anna asked. Alonna was looking at the dress like a kid does the candy bowl on Christmas. "I believe you may be right sweetheart. This kind of treasure is meant for a woman's body and well though a woman by motherhood you may be, the appearance of the body belonging to a young maiden is all anyone can see on you." Alonna attempted to sound as though she was only delicately trying to insult her. "I know mother. I'll grow a backside someday when I old & maybe even grow something worth looking at on top like you but for now scrawny is how I'll be. Maybe you should try it on since you have the figure for it." Anna replied sarcastically. "Well yes I think you may be right on this one." Alonna said attempting to sound unexcited about it. "From the size of it I'd say it must of been one of Lorna's early on in babe carrying time dresses." Alonna whispered. Anna just held her hands up and shrugged her shoulders then went(Page 86)
back out of the room saying "Hurry and get dressed Mother. Your not the only one dressing here you know."
As Anna came back in to the clothing room Lorna looked at her in utter amazement. "She fell for it?" Lorna mouthed the words. Afraid Alonna would here if she said them aloud. "Mmhm. I told you she would." Anna replied nonchalantly. She then took the dress Alonna had failed to fit into and said,"My I try this one please?" "I believe you will fit beautifully in that one." Lorna replied.
Alonna stepped into the clothing room with the dress Anna had suggested she try. She filled it out as though it were made just for her. "Uh-hmm." Alonna made a sound that was supposed to mimic her clearing her throat Anna and Lorna both looked at her. "See there. I told you to try it on." Anna said. "My goodness that fits you so well I Insist that you allow me to gift it to you on a permanent arrangement." Lorna said quickly. "Your sure? This is such a fine dress." Alonna asked. "It is from this day forward yours forever." Lorna said endearingly. "Thank you so much Lady Lorna." Alonna said bowing gracefully. Anna had gone into the dressing room and slipped in to the dress she had picked out. She came back out trying to lace up the laces that were supposed to be in back in front of her. "This dress is sure has an odd chest to it." She said. Lorna snickered slightly. "That's the back side." Alonna said. "Here, let me help." Lorna said. She pulled Anna's arms out of the sleeves and turned the dress around. Then sh gave a quick tug on the laces at the bottom synching them tightly and continued working her way up the back pulling each row of lacing tight. When she reached the tp she tied the laces in a bow and tucked the bow neatly inside. "There you are. All laced up properly." Lorna said. "How does one breath in this dress?" Anna asked. "Shallow(Page 87)
breaths or if you must breath deeply expand your stomach below the tight area to accommodate the needed room." Lorna replied.
There was a sudden tapping at the door. "Who's there?" Lorna called through the door. "Tis I, my lady Janta Banderman. Twas hoppin ta find me wife up here." Janta replied. Anna opened the door. "Yes my love. I am here." Anna said smiling sweetly. Janta just stood there speechless. To his eyes she was so beautiful in that dress he had gone blank for a moment and just stood there smiling. "Janta?" Anna said breaking his attention from her chest & bringing him back to this realm. "You, you sure fit in that frock nicely love." He said. "You like it?" She said smiling. "I do indeed" He said. He leaned in and whispered "Makes me wonder what ya got underneath of it." Anna blushed slightly. "You'll no be findin out here Mr. Banderman." Anna said mimicking his accent. They both laughed. "What brings you looking for me." Anna asked. "Oh, i wont be makin supper. Somethin has come up in town that the captain has asked me to aid him in its settlement." Janta explained. "Oh no you don't Janta Banderman. Thiscis an important dinner for our son and I'll be burned alive before I'll let you and my father slip off to some pub somewhere to escape it. What ever barmaid my father need to go see will have to wait." Anna said. She was all but yelling. She was sure Jerl could be found hiding around a corner close by and she wanted to make sure he herd her to.
Janta knew that to say anything more would guarantee him a few nights of sleeping in the barn so he lowered his head. "Yes love, I'll be ta supper. If it tis truly got ye settin in yer wey then I'll naut miss it." He said looking in to her eyes. The look in his eyes was deep and loving. Anna(Page 88)
could tell he was telling her the truth and meant every word he said. "Awe Janta, you really will be there just for me?" She said wrapping her arms around his neck loosely. "I my beauty. I'd do anythin ta see yer smile love." He replied. She leaned in and kissed him tenderly. He raised his arm up best he could to wrap around her waist and keep hold of his crutch at the same time. He pulled her closer until their bodies were touching. His hand drifted down and he grabbed a firm hand full of her butt and squeezed."Ahm." She squeaked as her eyes went wide with surprise at Janta's groaping squeeze. She pulled her lips off of his and looked him in his eyes. Her eyes were filled with a firey desire. "Somethin the matter love." He asked teasingly. The look on her face in responce to his question was all he needed to see. He giggled slightly and said, "Ditch the croans and I can handle fer ya." His voice quiet & seductive. He knew that squeeze on her bottom had sent her sex drive into an overloaded frenzy. Anna looked around quickly. Her mind was racing.
"Anna, Are you going to stand there all day making out with your..." "Mother. Do not finish that question." Anna interrupted. "She be done with the half man in a minute croans beak." Janta said scornfully. Both Janta and Alonna stared at one another. The hatred between the made the air around them thick. "Janta. Thats enough." Anna said scolding him. Janta didn't take his eyes off of Alonna. Lorna stepped out into the hallway as though something had caught her attention. "What is it?" Anna asked. Lorna sniffed the air then with a quick twist of her hand tword the near by corner of the intersecting hall she sent her magic flying. Amoment later as though he had been shoved Jerl came stumbling in to view.. "Do give a hand instead of hiding round corners." Lorna said(Page 89)
smiling then went back in to her chambers. "I have got to get her to teach me that." Anna said. "That woman scared me when she did na have her sight. Now that she does she's a lot scarier." Janta said shaking his head.
Jerl straightened himself and cleared his throat. "Come on Janta. We have a dinner to prepare for." Jerl said. "I captain." Janta responded. Then they walked to the hall where. Jerl had been hiding and went to ready themselves for dinner.
