Chapter 5

Sonic's POV•

As I let go from Amy's grip, she grabbed my arm once again and continue hugging it. Ok, this is getting a bit annoying, but she lost a mom... sharing your hand from this girl is not a big deal, Sonic... I scold myself before I look to Amy who was asleep already. Damn, that was fast. I thought before I gently remove my hand from hers and glance to Curine who was looking outside in wonder.

I got confused on why her reaction is different. All the villagers already see this sight... "Curine? Are you enjoying the scenery?" I ask that cause her to look at me in surprised. "U-Uumm... y-yes your majesty..." she answered. A long awkward silence filled the atmosphere as she continue watching outside.

"So... tell me about yourself Curine..."

"M-Me?..."

"Yes, you... I already heard enough from your sister... Sorry for your loss..." I told her but she just look at me with guilt. "What's wrong?" I ask. She just sigh before she stutter, "I was not s-supposed to say this b-but... we lost a d-dad, not a m-mom..." she pause as she bit her lip. "Huh?" I look back at her confused. "Then where is your mom?" I ask again.

"Our mom throw us out after dad died... So we work on Madam De Bossé Boutique for 7 years..."

"Really?! Then why did your sister lie?..."

She keep quiet and and just look down. "It's alright if you can't answer it, Curine. I won't force you..." I comforted her and she look back at me. "Can I please ask for a favor to not talk about this to Amy?... Our bond is not like the others..." she request and I just nod in understanding. The both of them must be so close...

Sonic: So you're twins?

Curine: *nod before removing her hoodie*

Sonic: So what are your differences?

Curine: W-Well... I have longer hair while she have a shorter one, she have green cyan eyes while I have blue bell, she is talented and... *look down* I'm not...

I stare at her for a while before I answer simply, "So what?". She look at me with slight tears before I continue "No one is perfect, Curine... You might not be talented, but at least you have a golden heart..." She gives me a small smile before I suddenly caught her necklace flash a bit before she shook me back to reality when she ask a question.

"Aren't you supposed to stay inside the castle?"

"I'm saving my last taste of freedom before getting married... to a another royalty..."

"That's horrible...But how did you become king while your mom and dad still alive?..."

"Don't you know who I am?! Everyone in the world knew me..."

She just shook her head as she look back outside. I thought myself over and think deeply. How come she doesn't know me... Doesn't she saw me beating Egghead's butt over the pass years?...

•Curine's POV•

When we reach the castle, I was surprised and at the same time scared. Sonic woke Amy up and open the door for us. I was busy looking at the castle that I didn't realize my foot accidentally slip from the staircase, causing me scream.

"Aaaahhhh!!!"

"C-Careful Curine!!!"

Someone quickly caught me in time. I quickly gasp as I look to that person and... oh my god, the king of cosium just save me from falling!!! I panicking out here!!! I thought as I made a nervous laugh and got up from feet before I look away, blushing crazily. He just c-caught me... by h-himself...
