A six year old girl with red hair and gold highlights was playing the playground. She played with the slides and swing with a cheerful face.

"Hikari! Come, it's time to go home!" her mother said, waving toward the little girl.

"Haaaiiii.... Wait for me oka-san!" she answer, running to her mother.

"Oka-san, before we get home can we go for some ice cream?" asked little Hikari, getting all hyper

"Calm down sweetie, sure we can get some ice cream" her mother replied, giggling at the antics

"I want to get the vanilla flavor!!" Hikari exclaimed excitedly, while crossing the road

"Wait, Hikari...you should not cross the road without looking left and right, what if there's a car?" her mother mutterred.

"But, we're fine" Hikari replied happily.

Little did they know that there was a car speeding down the road.

"HIKARI! WATCH OUT!!"

*BAM* *SCRREEEEECH*

There was smoke coming out of the car, and their body was covered with blood. The mother's blood to be exact. 

"O... ka...-san" Hikari said, as she stayed limb on the ground with her crimson eyes half opened and blurred eyesight, slowly closing

Shortly, the ambulance came after someone called the ambulance. The paramedics then carried Hikari and her mother to the hospital.

Hikari's POV

I opened my eyes to find myself seeing a white ceiling. I sat up without caring about the pain and saw myself all bandaged up. Suddenly the door opened, making me a little suprised.

"Oh, you're awake, let me call the doctor" the nurse said and want to walked away.

"Wait!! Where's oka-san?" I asked with a worried tone when I remember what happened. We got in an accident...

The nurse stopped walking, looking at me slightly before facing down. After a few minutes, she lift her head up and look directly at my eyes. She took a breath before talking

"I'm sorry.......Hikari-chan, your mother.....she.......she died protecting you" she answer and left with a sad face.

"What?" I asked myself shockly.

O-oka....-san?

She... d-died???

Oka-san....died?

The nurse word is kept replaying on my mind, as if I didn't understand the meaning.

Does....does that mean....she's...gone? Oka-san's gone?

No....

No way...

Oka-san, the only one who's ever there for me when father is always busy with work...

A tears streaming down my face as I think about it...

"Oka-san..."

"Come back....this isn't funny...I don't want to play this..."
