Esther's POV
The library being burned down didn't upset me a lot, but the owner of the building did. It was all such a short notice in a weird time like this. I was laying on the bed, trying to figure stuff out on my own. I was glad that I survived the blood moon, and I was glad that I didn't get marked. I got a thing with Callie, that's for sure.
I then heard the door open, making me look at it. "Are you alright?" Callie asked me, before she walked towards me. "Trying to figure things out inside my head." I replied. She nodded at that response, before she decided to lay down next to me. "Do you mind if I cuddle with you? I got clean hands..." she then asked me.
"Of course you can." I told her before she immediately wrapped her arms around me, putting me in a soft embrace. We stayed like this until I fell back asleep as I was still tired from the crazy experience last night.
"Esther? It's time to eat some dinner." Callie told me, waking me up from my nap. There was a tray right in front of me, on it was some nice soup with some slices of bread. I smiled at her as a thank you before I began to eat it slowly as the soup was still quite hot. It tasted of chicken which was my favourite.
After I was done, Callie took the tray back downstairs, leaving me alone once again. What was she doing down there? I caught her painting earlier, so it was very positive that she was still messing around. I needed to help her somehow...but would she let me even leave the house for even an hour?
I let out a sigh before I got up from the bed and found my jacket just lying on the bed opposite me. I decided to stop being lazy by dressing myself in my own normal clothes which was a beige t-shirt and some jeans...who am I kidding. It isn't normal. Reality isn't normal, it's just a fucking lie. I walked downstairs again to see what Callie was doing and just as I guessed, she was painting.
"Callie, do you mind if I go out to the mall?"
