Callie's POV

A hour later, I woke up knowing what to do with the small empty room downstairs. I was going to make it into our little private room just for me and Esther. I can't wait to see her reaction when she finally sees it. I better get start designing it before she wakes up. But first, I needed to have a shower.

I quietly and smoothly moved off the bed before I walked over to the bathroom. I heard her let out a small moan in her sleep, which made me smile to myself. I climbed into the bath tub before I turned on the water and began to shower. After my shower, I quickly got dried off before I put on my black robe again. Who needs clothes when you got a comfortable robe with you?

I looked at Esther before I went out of the room. Just as I thought, the room was entirely empty and dull. Thankfully I had some extra red paint. I wanted the room to look exactly like the rest of the house, red and beautiful. I began to paint the walls and tried my best not to stain the carpet. Oh...and Esther's cosy jacket was still lying on the floor.

"What are you doing, Callie?" I heard a very familiar voice ask me, which made me turn to look at Esther. It looked like she had a shower just before she went down to ask me that question. "I am making use of this room since you found it first." I answered her, before going back to painting. She then began to laugh at me. "You do know that is not how you paint, right? Using your hands, I mean?" she then questioned me.

"Well, I don't have any paintbrushes. I don't go outside much so why not?" I told her before I watched her nod, agreeing with me. "That's very creative. I should help you but I only came down to get some food and a drink." she said to me before I watched her walk to the kitchen. Bless her little heart.

It was true though, I don't like going outside as it makes me lonely in a way that I can't really explain to people. I only went out because I knew she was somehow waiting for me to take her away from where she was living.

"Callie?" Esther called my name, which made me stop what I was doing and automatically walked over to her. "What is it?" I asked her, before she pointed at the TV screen. My eyes then widened in shock.

"Last night, the Brook library was broken into and robbed. Luckily, nobody was hurt. The police is currently assessing the damage and reviewing the camera footage. We will bring you another update soon."

I cannot believe what cruel world we were living in. Someone broke into the library and took everything. And that library was special to us. We first saw each other there. Suddenly, the same news reporter came back on.

"The owner of the building has just told us that the library was going to be closed down anyway and called off the investigation."

"WHAT THE FUCK?!" Esther screamed at the TV screen in pure anger. I watched her grab the TV remote before chucking it directly at the screen, making a crack in it. She panted heavily for a few seconds, before she turned her head to look at me.

"Oh..Oh my god. I am so sorry...I don't know what came over me..." she began to apologise. I wasn't angry with her at all. I was angry at the owner.

"It's okay. I don't actually care about the TV. It was basically never used." I told her. I would give her a hug, but my hands were covered in paint. We stared at each other for a couple of seconds before I watched her leave to go upstairs.

Time to continue with the room, I guess.
