I saw Ria ran inside the hospital and never looked back which is why I followed her. My heart raced and my mind became blank, which is why I made a decision without thinking. But something popped up in my mind that made me go nuts. I remembered Zia’s name.

I entered the hospital and immediately went to the reception area. I asked the receptionist where is the room Zia Carson was destined and asked me if what relationship do I have with the patient. I answered the receptionist, a friend of her sister.

“She called me here that there was an emergency,” I explained.

The receptionist believed me, and gave me a visitor’s pass. It was a slightly lie that Ria didn’t called me, but most of it was the truth. I went to the staircase and looked at the signs that the receptionist instructed me earlier. I went to a ICU hallway and suddenly heard some chatting. I heard Ria’s voice talking to an old man. I took a peek and saw her talking to her father.

“Dad is she okay?" Ria asked his father while crying.

“Don’t worry sweetie, her heart became stable, There is nothing to worry about, She’s a fighter remember?” her father assured her as he gently calmed her in his arms.

“It’s my fault, it’s all my fault,” she kept declaring the same words as her tears fell down from her eyes.

“Don’t cry sweetie, it’s not your fault that this happened to her, don’t cry, Shhh… Don’t cry,” he continued to calm her.

“If I didn’t done that, this would never happen,” Ria sobbingly blurted out.

Her father tried to comfort her pain, while gently patting her head and hugging her tightly. His eyes can be shown his hurt. He suffered too much pain while watching both of his girls suffering. He suddenly looked at me standing in the hallway wearing a surprised face.

“Ria, is he your friend?” her father asked.

She stopped sobbing and looked the direction where I am standing. She was surprised when he saw me standing in the hallway that made her left speechless.

“Uh… H-hi,” I hesitated. “Sorry for eavesdropping, it was my mistake to barge into someone’s private discussion,” I implored while my head was bow down.

“Um… Dad, he was my friend,” she replied. “Don’t worry, it’s fine, good thing you’re here,” she assured me.

“Well I saw you running early at the road with my friends and decided to follow you here," I explained.

“Anyway, what happened?”  I asked her.

“I got a text from my dad, he said that I should go the hospital because Zia’s heart suddenly dropped almost to zero,” she sobbed and tried to calm down. “I thought that I was gonna lose her,” she cried out.

My mind was staggered when I heard Zia’s heart suddenly dropped down. My heart raced even faster. My eyes became wider which left me speechless. She put her head on my left shoulder and tried to hide her tears from me while faintly sobbed. I gently pacify her by caressed her head with my right hand.

“I’m… sorry,” I hold back.

I don’t know what to say either. The situation she and Zia are in. I just can’t blurt out words that can soothe her pain, which is why leaning a shoulder to her is all I can do right now. When she became calmed, she sat upright and looked at me.

“It’s alright,” she assured. “I’ll tell you what happened to us, so that you know why,” she explained.

“Actually, we are not really siblings, we were step sisters… We had the same dad but different mom, maybe I’ve done this because of jealousy when I was a kid… My dad always putted his attention to Zia instead of me, which made me felt irritated, but dumb over a simple sibling rivalry,” she stated.
