The call up

The day shes been waiting for

It was Friday and she couldn't believe it was the day. She got out of bed and changed into her Nike tracksuit and some vapormax. She braided her hair into two Dutch braids and had some porridge for breakfast. She got into the car with her dad and they were on their way. The journey wasn't too bad, only 1hour in the motorway but it felt like forever. She pulled up to SGP and her heart sank to her stomach. Her dad looked at her eyes and knew she was nervous

"Your my baby girl, you will be fine" he said getting out her suitcase and her boot bag. Layla took a deep breath and got out taking the suitcase from her dad and they walked up the stairs to the players arrivals door. Her heart was beating at 100000 mph but as soon as she saw her U17s coach she fell calm.

"Hey Layla" said Julie (her coach)

"Hi how you doing?"

"Meet Phil, Phil meet Layla Williams" Phil and Layla smiled and shook hands.whilst Julie goes and fills in paperwork with her dad.

"How you feeling?"

"Nervous but exited to start" Layla replies which makes Phil giggle

"Enthusiastic, I like it ! So rooms, this trip we are having some rooms of three as that's how we've booked it this time so I was thinking Leah and Georgia will get on well with you I think." I nodded as I don't want to say no. I didn't know them and they were pretty big names in the WSL but Phil reassured me that they will like me.

"Jord come onnn" there was a shout outside and Phil giggled and said

"That's your roomie" which made me smile nervously. As soon as they walked through the door I felt at ease as they gave me a smile.

"Hey I'm Leah, you must be Layla right?" I smiled and nodded.

"This is  jord, she's a waste of space and forgets everything you tell her. Including her boots!" Leah said sarcastically

"You have to be kidding Jordan" the boot man says which made Leah smile and Jordan embarrassed

"It's fine I've got some spares" the boot man huffed and went to find some spare boots for Jordan.

"Leah your rooming with Layla and g if that's okay?" Phil said trying to clear the tension

"Sounds good" which made Layla smile that Leah said it was good. The room started to fill and Leah could see Layla getting nervous.

"So what's your story" she asked. Layla was startled at this question and didn't really know how to answer

"Not sure, I play for the man city academy and I was in class and I got the call up" Layla awkwardly not really knowing what to say

"In class, how old are you?"

"16, 17 in two days"

"Your 16. Wow this must be like a dream then. And you get to spend your birthday on your first camp that's pretty sick not gunna lie" Leah said which made Layla feel at ease

"Ye so I play for the U16 Man City academy as I'm in education but I have trained with the first team a little."

"So you know g?"

"I've met her but she won't remember me probably" Layla said looking at the floor

"Leahhhhhhh" said a voice and she jumped on leahs back

"Ayyyy lil g" Leah said and gave Georgia a big hug

"This is" Georgia interrupted Leah "Layla , you play for the academy don't you." G said which made Layla smile. Layla nodded and Phil began to speak
