I rush to where Kyle and Brian were playing basketball and see Kyle spread amongst the floor holding his leg and rolling back and forth slightly to the left, then the right. And repeating.. "Oh my gosh!!!" I gasp. His knee cap is so blue and swollen. We all try to pick him up very easily.Brian is really strong so it should be that hard. We finally arrive to the hospital and I run in to get a wheel chair. We place him in it and zoom through the hospital shouting for help. By now Kyle is in almost tears. Oh no oh no oh no I think to myself;what is going to happen??
We set and wait in silence for the doctor to come through the door. Finally. " Alex Collins" they call my name?? I stand up and walk to the nurse. She tells me that Kyle wants to see me and he is going to be okay. "Now, he is hurt, and you will have to help him get around a lot. We will give him crutches but make him avoid any steps,stairs, or running or putting pressure on his left leg. He tore two ligaments in his knee." I walk into the room and rush over to where he sets. He is setting up so he is probably doing okay. I hug him and he kisses me."are you okay baby?" I ask him. "Yeah I'm okay." His voice cracking echoes the room.his hair is all messed up and it is so cute. I call his parents and my parents to Inform them and they show at the same time. He tells our parents he is okay and that he will be fine. Tom is so good with comforting him. Mary stands about holding his hand. Kate goes down to the cafeteria and gets him a sprite and cup of pudding. Usual hospital food.
***** Kyle gets out the next day and he lays in bed most of the time. I feel so sorry for him having to take a shower with a bag over his knee. Poor Kyle, although he has everything an injured person could need; Netflix,cuddling,sleep, food, and more food.
