(short chapter)
Part 1-
It was the next day already, everything after dinner was a blur for Savannah as she was tired as hell. Her alarm rang loudly. The alarm was very soothing but it played with a loud volume to reach all parts of her room if she was to try to get away from her alarm.
"Urgh.."Savannah wiggled in her bed as she tried to remember if she had a dream that night, and it kind of had become a habit every single morning. But today she couldn't recall a single thing this morning which was strange as she usually had some kind of memory from a dream. maybe she didn't have a dream last night-? Anyway, Savannah grumbled and groaned. She wasn't ready to wake although she had school and the thought of her being late had the power to get her up and awake.
She rubbed her eyes and wearily stumbled to her bathroom, she sighed as she stepped onto the cold hard floor of her bathroom. After closing her door Savannah quickly splashed her face with luke-warm water as she blinked the water out her eyes.
After being awakened by the splash of water she grabbed her toothbrush and wetted it putting a dollop of charcoal toothpaste and entering it into her mouth and started brushing them carefully. Savannah pulled it out and spit into her sink before turning the tap on and washing her cup plus mouth. The water cut off and she dryer her face and mouth with a small face towel before walking out and towards the other side of her room when her closet was placed. She tapped her chin as she wondered what to wear, Savannah had approximately well.. about 15 minutes or so, she'd have to choose quickly.
She suddenly grinned and grabbed a knee-length pastel plaid blue skirt with two layers of mild frills, a yellowish-white lacey top blouse, and a dirty blue yarn cardigan to put the whole thing together. She styled her hair nicely with a high ponytail and a clip with a beautiful butterfly from her father. After finishing her outfit she stretched running downstairs to grab her bag and opened the door suddenly shouting, "Bye Mom!", then quickly running outside closing the door behind her.
Part 2-
On the bus she sat on the second last row as always alone in her two-person seat with her bag in the seat next to her hopeful no one would sit next to her today. Savannah just wanted to finally have a normal and peaceful bus ride to school without anyone there to disturb it, and lucky enough it was going good so far she just had to hope no one else would board the bus in the last 15 minutes of the bus ride to school.
But it just had to be ruined. The bus suddenly skidded to a stop as the loud scratchy noise of the bus doors opening was heard. and she expected it to be a late younger student but of course, it was that new guy from yesterday, Daniel. And of course, this wouldn't be a romance story if Savannah wasn't the only person with a free seat next to her so of course Daniel walked to her seat and stood there as she awkwardly and suddenly grabbed her bag giving him space to sit. Then the awkwardness began.
Daniel glanced at Savannah. He definitely wanted to say something but didn't know if Savannah wanted to talk or not, but then she suddenly spoke. "um.. hi- again-" Savannah studdered hoping it wasn't too casual or whatnot.
"phew, I was hoping you'd speak- anyway how are you? Savannah right?" Daniel turned to her relieved he didn't have to start a conversation.
She nodded looking down at her bag a little bit too uncomfortable to make eye contact of course. "uh- yup! Daniel?"
He nodded too as he looked out the aisle as the bus started moving again. The awkwardness would definitely stick.
