My legs froze as I walked up to the stain glassed covered door of Niall's house. I chose to wear a white lace dress in the middle of December and I was definitely paying for it now. My skin was chilled with bumps as I took a deep breath before heading to knock. It had been a while since Niall and I were able to have a date, with tour, interviews, award shows, and the new album coming out he was a busy man. To my surprise Niall pulled open the door before I had a chance to knock. I found comfort in his warm smile, a smile that could light up a dark room, I swear.

"I missed you!" Niall said pulling me into a tight hug as soon as I stepped foot inside. He released me only long enough to close the door before pulling me in again. "Next time, you're coming to America with me!"

"I missed you too," I laughed. The thought of traveling to America with Niall was some what terrifying but I didn't dwell on it. The fact that he was standing before me instead of on a tiny iPhone face time screen or on a computer via Skype was too extraordinary.

"Head into the den, I have a surprise for you!" he said running off toward the kitchen. I kicked off my shoes by the door and headed into the den. A warm, crackling fire welcomed me as I sat on the sofa waiting for Niall's return.

"Are you ready for this?" Niall yelled from afar, his foot steps sounded slow but still boomed on the wooden floors.

"I was born ready," I laughed turning to see a smiling Niall walking forward into the room with two mugs.

"Hot chocolate!" he beamed with excitement as he handed me a mug. "It's from this place in New York, City Bakery. Hands down the best!"

"Holy chocolate," I replied after taking a tiny sip. The warm drink warmed me from the inside out, definitely the best hot chocolate I had ever had in my lifetime, it tasted as if a chocolate bar had been melted into my mug.

"Told ya, and I know my food!" he laughed as the dog ran into the room. "He missed ya too apparently!"

"No he missed you, he's gonna follow you around for the next week!" I laughed recalling the last time Niall had come home after a long time away, the dog followed him around for almost two weeks straight and whimpered when he left.

"Yeah well we will see about that," he laughed carrying our empty mugs back toward the kitchen and returning with a pitcher of sangria and two glasses.

"Wow, you planned everything out didn't you?" I asked as he poured our glasses full.

"I tried!" he laughed, stepping over to the cabinet. "Monopoly?" he said pulling the board game off of the top shelf.

"Fine," I said after a moment. "But this time you're the one going bankrupt!"

"If that's what ya say little lady," he laughed sitting the board game up on the table as I sat across from him on the floor.

"This game always ends in a fight," he laughed "Maybe not the best choice."

"Too late now, Niall. It's set up so we have to fight it out," I laughed picking up the dog player piece and putting it on go.

"We'll fight to the death!" Niall roared, then shrugged "Or until one of us loses all of our money."

Time seemed to pass quickly, it was as if every hour with Niall was only a minute long and every hour without him was a week long. I couldn't explain it but I was happier to have those quick hours than no time with him at all. Before I knew it Niall was stealing the last bit of my money and I was bankrupt.

"Dammit," I mumbled handing him what little money I had left for rent as I landed on his hotel marked spot. "Bankrupt, like always."

"I would like to call a toast," Niall said before clearing his throat and raising his glass. "A toast to my fabulous gaming skills and to your horrible money saving techniques. Also a toast to the fact that for the rest of our lives I will have to be the one in charge of the finances!"
