Lost in the shadows - The lost Boys

Lydia and Sam both stood up as Lucy opened the door.

"Hello Max". Lucy said softly.

Lydia and Sam both walked forwards, there hands clasped.

"Hello Lucy". Max said, a wide smile on his face. He looked up and smiled when he saw Lydia and Sam. "Hello Lydia. Hello Sam". He said.

"Hello Max". They both said at the same time.

Lucy forced a smile and moved out of the way. "Please come in". She said. She looked at Lydia and smiled, getting some comfort from her daughter helped her a lot. 

Lydia turned her head as she could hear the sound of motorbikes pulling up. She held Sam's hand tighter. He smiled sadly up at his sister and led her to the sofa.

Lucy rushed to the door and opened it. She smiled at Michael as he entered. Star was with him, there hands entwined.

"You can come in Laddie". Michael said softly to the young boy. 

Lydia looked up as David entered, behind him was Dwayne, Paul and Marko.

"Boys". Max said, a frown on his face.

"Everyone sit down". Lucy said, her hands on her hips. When no one did as she asked she sighed. "Now". She said a bit more forcefully.

Lydia looked down at her hands as the four boys sat across from her. Max sat down in the armchair as Star and Michael sat in the two seater. Laddie climbed onto Dwayne's lap, a small frown on his face.

"I want to say thank you for all coming. I don't think we've been introduced my name is Lucy". She said softly to Star.

"I'm Star". She said softly. Lucy nodded and took a deep breath. She looked around at everyone and then down to the ground.

"I've called you all here today because I need to get a few things of my chest and I need answers. I...I know that your all vampires". She said.

They all looked up at her, the room was deathly quiet minus the ticking from the clock.

"Lucy..." Max started but she put up her hand to stop him. 

"I know okay and I want to know why you thought it would be a good idea to keep something like that from me". She said to Max. She then turned to the four boys. "And why the fuck you would think it would be okay to turn my son". She said, her voice raised.

Lydia held onto Sam's hand a little tighter. "Well?" Lucy asked.

Max stood up and sighed. "I'll go first". He muttered. He took a deep breath. "I never told you I was a vampire Lucy because you do realise how crazy that sounds don't you? I have never felt this way about anyone in my life. I love you. I really do love you and when I first met you I had this feeling that I never felt before. I actually prayed that I could be human so I could actually be with you. I would do anything to grow old with you, but I can't because I'm cursed. I would never ask you to turn. At first...I will be honest with you at first I wanted to change you so you could be a mother to my boys but I couldn't do that you. The more I got to know you and the more I spent time with you I fell madly in love with you. And for they boys changing Michael, it wasn't there fault. They did it so Star could become a vampire. He was...he was meant to be her first kill, but the boys took a liking to Michael and they changed him. If...if I could go back in time I wouldn't of let that happen. But you have to believe me Lucy, when I tell you that I love you I mean that". He said.

Lydia looked up and her eyes found David's. All she wanted to do was run into his arms and hug him.

"There's no way out of it is there for Michael?" She asked.

Max smiled sadly. "I'm afraid there isn't. The only way out is....is for him to die". He answered.

Lucy slipped onto the sofa beside Lydia and Sam, her face covered with her hands. She let out a loud sigh as she turned to look at Michael. She turned and looked at her two youngest children, then back to Max.

She gulped and looked down at the ground. "Is it okay if I talk to my children in private please?" She asked as she stood up.

They all nodded.

Michael, Lydia and Sam all followed Lucy outside. She had her back to them as she looked at the scenery. "Mom?" Sam asked after a few minutes of silence.

"I'm trying to think what I should do. I...I love you all so much. But I also love Max". She cried.

Lydia moved closer to her mom and wrapped her arms around her. "What ever your decision is mom, we'll stand by you". She whispered.

Lucy nodded her head and wiped away her tears.

"I've made my mind up". She said. She opened the front door and entered the house, her children close behind her.

"I want to become a vampire". She said suddenly.
